I have just redone my Isuzu Frontier 3.2.V6 LX 24v motor. The car is very heavy on fuel, The inlet and exhaust cams had been switched on the one head. I changed them to their original sides and when i started the motor the lifters were very noisy on that head. The motor idles / starts fine, but sometimes wants to cut out at robots. It is also as if she is only running on 3/4 cylinders instead of all 6. At times she runs perfect and sometimes out of the blue she all of a sudden has very little power. Please advise a remedy. The cam profiles are different between in and exhaust cams so switching them may be the start of you problems. The noisy lifters probably came from the incorrect cam not allowing them to adjust properly . The rest of you problems probably come from the fact that the CPU is having trouble analysing and adjusting .

The reason it's stalling out is because of the adjustments you made to the CAS and TPS. You need to reset the CAS where it was, since when you rotate this sensor, you change the ignition timing. As for the TPS, that also needs to be reset to how it was. The way to adjust the idle on this engine is with a screw on the idle air control valve (IACV). At the back corner of the engine, on top on the driver's side, the IACV is bolted on. If you crouch down next to the driver's fender and look straight in at the IACV (with a flashlight) you will see a screw recessed in there, with the head pointing toward you. That's the idle adjustment screw. With the engine running, AFTER you have reset the CAS and TPS, turn this screw until you are able to set a warm-engine idle of roughly 750 RPM. Messing with TPS voltage and ignition timing is a sure-fire way to stall or blow up your engine.

Sounds like one of your chambers isn't firing. Run your car for a few minutes, shut it off then pull your plugs one at a time and see if one of them is wet. Might just need a new plug.

Suspect cam timing or injection pump timing is a tooth off causing problem.

I realise you have probably solved this problem by now so sorry for the late news mate . Had a similar prob and it turned out to be an alternator malfunction . I replace the brushes and off she went . These things send voltage from the alt . to a fuel pump relay or whatever so the pump wont run if the eng isn't (or the alt isn't outputting any voltage.) . Hope you already had it sorted . But I hope this helps if not . Cheers Simon .

Hi you should change the coolant temp sensor this is a white sensor on top of the intake and is part ot the computer system.
