I think that you have a typo and believe that you meant p0300.
If so p0300 means multiple cylinder misfire.

A tune up will usually fix this problem.
spark plugs
wires
ignition rotor ( if it has one )
distributor cap ( if it has one )
Ignition coil
pcv valve.

Check your tune up.

    do i need to reset?

  • Anonymous Mar 30, 2013

yes if you replaced the Map sensor most likely you need to relearn it. when i get back to the shop i can look it up for you.

95 HONDA ACCORD MANUAL VTEC EVERY TIME IT HITS 3000 RPMS IT CUTS OUT AND ALMOST ALWAYS SHUTS OFF WHEN I COME TO A STOP. I CAN START IT UP AND DRIVE. DOES IT SOUND LIKE A PROBLEM WITH THE ECU?

no
sounds like the rpm limiter has been activated
shutting down at stop lights ,( normally with the foot on the brake ) indicates a vacuum brake booster failure
always run the fault codes first if the car is not running correctly

How do I figure out why my 2002 Ford expedition sonds like street sweeper and will not stay on at red lights... Code 171 lean bank 1 and 2 Help!!!!!

simple test
apply the hand brake
start engine
idles ok
press brake pedal
engine stops
fix
replace faulty brake booster
indicates that when sitting at lights with the foot on the brake the air is getting in from a faulty booster and making the mixture too lean to run

I have a 2004 dodge stratus . when i stop at a red light the engine will stop, but the engine will start back up so far . whats going on to cause this.

salesman and shop mechanic blah bl;ah to sell a vehicle
try this simple test
when stopped apply the hand brake
start the engine and if it stays running , put your foot on the brake
if it stops but restarts when you take your foot of the brake to start it , the the problem is more than likely a failing brake booster
also to check for other problems take it to a service center or autozone and have the fault codes read

My 2004 ford expedition idles rough like its going to cut off The idling jumps up and down in park or drive only when stopped Service engine light cuts off and on periodically what could be happening

run a teat. Remove the vacuum line from the brake booster and plug off. Start engine and see if it idles normally. . Put your foot on the brake pedal and apply the brakes . If the idle is still normal replace the brake booster as there is an air leak in the diaphram.. The service light is probably recording misfiring and air fuel mixture problems.. run fault codes any way just to check it out .

My car stops verry often especially when i reduce the speed to the traffic light.Could be the fuell filter?or the petrol got dirt in it.

I suspect a vacuum leak -probably in the brake booster-which is making the engine run lean and cut out. Try coasting up to the lights with out your foot on the brake and see if it cuts out when you apply the brake to stop. Run fault codes to check for a sensor fault.

Need a wiring diagram for a chevy s10. brake

your power starts at the brake light fuse, check with a test light, then proceed to stop light switch on brake pedal under dash, one wire will be hot when when you check it with your test light, the other won't be until you press down the brake pedal then the power flows through to the second wire,if no power to second wire replace switch,if you have power remove tail light bulbs and check for power in side socket.

Brake lights stay on

Your brake light switch is stuck on, this is also why the cruise is in-op, the cruise is turned off anytime you touch the brake pedal otherwise the car would try to accelerate when you tried braking. The brake light switch is located above the brake pedal, look up the arm the pedal is attached to and you will see it, the switch is not real expensive, and it is easy to install with simple hand tools. As far as the door lock issue fix the brake light switch and try it, not sure it is related unless it all started at the time the brake lights started staying on. Post back after you replace the switch if door problem remains. Thanks
