Check the water levels. I had my 2011 sonata for two years and it started doing the same thing. You can look on line to see how to check and fill water levels. It's a really simple fix and cost the price of distilled water if you dont have any on hand.

It can be a number of problems one can be you have something is staying on it can be a light in the boot, you alarm is wired wrong or a radio is not off or it can be the battery no good. By jumping the car with a jumper leads can damage the battery, or you alternator is not charging good. First to check your alternator you will need a volt meter and place the negative from your meter to the negative of the batter and the positive to the positive and start your car. If the reading is 14.3 V to 14.8 V your alternator is good than the problem it can be any of the other things that I indicated

SOURCE: Hyundai Santa Fe battery dies after 2 days with no use

Hi, I have had similar intemittent dead\low battery problems with my 2008 CDX+.

The garage could never find anything wrong with the charging system, battery or drain. I bought a replacement battery, jump start power pack, battery tester and battery charger, in total costing hunders of pounds in an attempt to resolve the problem.

I was on the point of selling it when one day I heard the roof mounted DVD player making noises when I hadn't switched it on (I never switch it on). After disconnecting it the car started perfectly for months. After reconnecting it the issue came back, however I could never recreate the problem at the dealership as it was intermittent, and they had it for days. Eventually the DVD player took in a disc and refused to eject it. This was enough to have it replaced under warranty. Unfortunately the new one took about 4 months to come in and I have never recieved my disc back.

The new DVD player seems to have helped, however I can still report that in the 6 months or so since fitting I have had one of the new overhead bulbs blow and the battery has been dead on 2 occassions. The last occassion was yesterday and we had driven the car fine the day before.

I now carry the power pack in the car at all times, however as this is my wife's car she is concerned about being stranded with our new baby. My thoughts have once again turned to changing cars (new diesel auto crv 2010?) which is a shame as the Santa Fe ticks the boxes in so many other areas.

Hope this helps. ?

SOURCE: stereo problem with hyundai sonata 2000 after dead battery

After verifying all the connections to the radio are good (power and ground, antenna, speakers, etc), the audio unit has an internal malfunction. Solution: Replace the audio unit.

SOURCE: 2002 Hyundai Sonata "battery" light

The Alternator may not be charging at the proper level. If the car is running while you're trying to open the sunroof or turn on the defroster, then the battery light has nothing to do with those and they are separate problems. Have an ASE Certified mechanic check the charging system.

2012 sonata burning oil- just had oil change and have to add oil- no visible signs of leak

If the oil loss started after oil change check to see if your oil filter is not all the way tight. My oil light came on a couple months ago about a month after oil change. I reached under my truck and could turn the oil filter by hand. Just something to check. Make sure the oil filter is tight and drain plug is not wet may leak at drain plug. Those are the cheep fixes.

WHAT WOULD MAKE A 2012 HYUNDAI SONATA 2.4L NOT START OR CRANK AFTER ITS DRIVEN A WHILE

clicking is usually a sign the motor is failing, warn bushes, an extra jump from another battery would make the motor work as its getting more power. can also be a build up of bush dust in the motor these will overheat the motor over time give bad connection and even burn out the motor poles. other problems that can case the same problem are the earth strip and the live feed not getting a good connection, this will limit the power to the motor,

2012 VW Jetta TDI battery won't hold charge and car only clicks and won't start

You need to charge your battery up more. Either get a battery charger or leave the jumper cables hooked up for a longer period of time.
Your battery was probably completely dead. You might even need a new battery...they really don't like to be completely drained.

I put a new battery in my hyundai sonata and now the lights inside the car wont even come on. it won't do anything. If you jump it it will start but thats it it won't start back up after you turn...

Did this occur straight after changing out the battery, or after sitting with the new battery installed?

Have you checked the new batteries voltage and voltage under load, eg. (Voltage when headlights are on) could be a flat new battery.

Or could be load on the battery after key is turned off, something draining the battery overnight like a boot or interior light, radio left on ect.

Unlikely a short, or you would be in a world of burnt wires from the battery cables.

When i try to start me 2008 sonata the alarm goes off and the engine will not turn over. what can i do?

Your Sonata is equipped with a "Keyless Entry & Burglar Alarm" system. When the Burglar Alarm is activated, it KILLS the starting system through the used of a relay called the "Burglar Alarm Relay". This mode prevents engine starting with the key.
Solution #1
Disarm the system with the Keyless Remote (key fob) If you don't have this remote (or its battery is dead) replace the battery & try disarming again.
Solution #2
Enter the vehicle & insert the key in the ignition and turn the ignition switch to 'RUN'. Wait 3 to 5 minutes until the alarm stops. You should then be able to start the engine.

Have a qualified/certified Hyundai Service Technician properly diagnose this issue.
