Need to find the starter relay on my '92 SC2

Starter is good but getting no turn over. relay or neutral safety switch?

SOURCE: saturn sc2 wont start

You most likely have a burnt terminal in your Inside fuse block.Easiest way to check this is to remove the console trim panel next to the drivers side front of console,just pulls loose.Then while trying to start the engine reach down & wiggle the wring going into the front 68way connector.If it takes off & starts to crank you have a burnt terminal in the fuse block.If you remove the front connector (68 Way) there are 2 of these 68 ways in that block.You can look inside at the male terminals you will see one terminal with plastic melted around it.If you see this,that''s your problem!! You will need to find a used Fuse block at junkyard with same Part #.Very important to get same part!! Hope This helps

Replacing all this you surely set the alarm off. Turn the car on, don't start . let sit for ten minutes, turn off, don't remove the key. do this three times. after the third time you turn it off, if it was the security, then the car should start. Let me know And we can go fdrom there.

Hi thee:
Check this possible causes:
- Air leaks present in the exhaust manifold or the exhaust pipes
- Fuel pressure is too high (i.e., causing a rich air fuel mixture)
- HO2S may be contaminated (due to improper fuel or silicone)
- HO2S signal high or low reference circuit has high resistance
- HO2S heater element has failed, or the heater circuit is open
- PCM has failed

Test wires and harnesses. Hope helps.

Try wiggling the gear selector from park to neutral . Check B+ voltage at the park neutral safety switch . When you turn key to start B+ voltage goes to the neutral safety switch , if switch is good ,B+ voltage goes through the switch if in park or neutral to the solenoid on the starter . IF all is good starter energizes and spins the engine over . Starter Voltage Drop If you can't fix it with this info , your best bet have it towed to a qualified repair shop .

What year is your vue ? Battery an connections good ? Do the dash lights come on when you turn the key to run ? Headlamps work ?

Do you know how your starting system works ? Do you know about the starter relay ? All power comes to an through the starter relay . The park neutral safety switch is on the transmission. VEHICLE RELAYS Testing from the relay base If you have a anti-theft system problem the engine computer - PCM will not let the starter engage . I think the purple wire (or maybe the yellow) from the neutral safety switch goes to the coil side of the starter relay, turning it on so power is sent from there to the starter solenoid. You could check for this signal to the relay with a test light. The key must be held in start while you probe the other two terminals for the relay. If the signal is there, either a bad relay or the coil side of relay is not grounded properly. It is possible that the coil side ground is the neutral safety switch-grounding the relay's coil side only in park or neutral-in which case the nagging light on shifter (between off and run, it only works?) may be telling you the safety switch is the problem.

You may need to look at a wiring diagram, Greg. But the starter relay is the last component in the start circuit before the starter solenoid. From battery to ignition switch to "crank" fuse to neutral safety switch to starter relay to starter solenoid to starter-and back to battery through ground. That is the start circuit. Just that the wiring tying them all together makes it complicated.

My 92 lincoln town car will not start i have replaced the starter, the neutral safety switch and the battery but when i turn key nothing happens but can jump starter and will crank
Yes there is a starter relay in the wiring diagram.
The yellow and lite blue wire goes from the starter solenoid to the relay. There is a yellow wire from the relay to a 30amp fuse. The key switch powers thru the neutral safety switch and then powers the relay on.

You can test right from the starter relay ,located in the under hood fuse relay box . You want to know if the starter is good or bad or if the control side is the problem . Turning the ignition switch to start sends B+ voltage to the park neutral safety switch an through the coil side of the starter relay to ground ,if the park neutral switch is good . Try moving the gear selector into neutral to see if it starts then .
Looking at a wiring diagram would be a good first step in the diagnostic process. Free wiring diagram's here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info year , make , model and engine size . Under system click on engine then under subsystem click on starting . Click the search button then the blue link . Pull the relay an look at the bottom , you will see four numbers . 30 - 87 & 85 - 86 . Take a piece of 12 gage wire ,jump where 30 an 87 plug into the relay socket . If the starter is it will spin the engine over .

Starter won't engage
It's most likely the neutral safety switch. Try putting the shifter in Neutral and slipping it just a little toward Park and see if it'll crank. If it does the neutral safety switch is the problem but worn linkage is the cause.
You've already check or replace everything else so it has to be this or the ignition switch.

Have the battery checked,and the battery connections checked to make sure they are not corroded,then check neutral safety switch,and starter.

Replaced starter relay but truck still will not start. Will start if I jump the relay. What else could the problem be.
The starter relay is energized by the ignition switch, through either the neutral safety switch, or the clutch safety switch.

No power to the exiter wire on the starter cilinoide
starters are simple, big cable supplies direct power from battery. little wire gets power from starter relay after ignition switch is turned to on position. relay is located under hood in relay box on left fender.car safety neutral switch also has to be aligned and good try starting in neutral.

I have a 1992 saturn sc... It stalled when it ran out of gas and I finally put gas in it but now I cant get it to turn over. I tried to push start it but nothing. The altenator, battery, and spark plugs are all relatively new. How do I get it started?
