Sometimes the new distributor cap has a different sequence of the spark plug wires. It would have an instructional diagram to designate which wire number goes where. On 4-cylinder Honda vehicles, the #1 sparkplug is all the way to the left or front (in the case of transversely mounted engines). The first thing to go awry in a DIY tuneup is usually the wire sequence.

Now, if you connected a battery during this process, then check/replace the Main/Power Relay/Fuse because you could have hooked it up wrong.

Won't run, got fuel, got spark from coil to distributer but will not fire. Tried new plugs, fuel filter and dust. cap. No go.

You may want to change your rotor bug in distrubtor,If this don't work you may have bent or wornout shaft goig down from distrubutor inside motor. But if your getting fire to the coil but not the distrubtor i think the rotor bug will fix it. Good luck to you.

Oil inside cylinders

oil inside the cylinders happens two ways...bad or worn piston rings or bad valve seals.  If you do a compression test this will tell you what the problem is.  when you remove your oil filler cap with the motor running is there a lot of pressure coming from inside the engine?  If there is, as I'm suspecting you are sadly suffering from a worn out engine.
