When cold idle is going, listen to intake manifold with hood open. This will involve getting real close to the intake side of the engine. If you hear a whistle or air draw from anywhere around the intake, there is an air leak to the engine. The intake manifold gasket maybe cracked allowing air to bypass the intake sensors at cold when the gasket is closed. But when it warms up, the gasket allows air to bypass the intake and causes a stumble, pause at partial throttle or a wondering idle. If you increase the idle speed, it confuses the cpu and causes the engine to run eratic.

What can cause a fluctuating idle on a cold start until warm then idles normal after that on my1990 Ford probe

The Idle Air Adjust Valve sounds like it is stuck closed and you have an air leak in that system.

93 ford probe kills when i let off the gas, is starts up fine ,after it warm up it kills

Most likely the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) which controls cold, warm, and AC on idling speeds. Another cause could be the MAP sensor but I'd lean toward the TPS. Best of luck.

p.s. You can bring the car to a service station or auto parts store which features free diagnostic testing which will give you any error codes to lead you in the right direction.

1990 Ford Probe 2.2 automatic stalls in forward, reverse OK

Sounds like a bad IAC (idle air control valve/sensor) that controls your idle when going from throttle to idle. If bad your idle will act crazy and can cause stalls easily. Pretty sure that's it.
