Mercedes E280 not changing from gear one after repalcing engine

start by changing your fluid and filter.

engine number is in your log book

call the dealer

check oil level in gear box as low levels can make the car rev up a bit but a small amount of reving is normal when being put into drive or put into neturel

At times my 2000 c280 transmission Would not change gears, and at times it does. What could be the problem?

let me start by saying "great car!". the way to reset the light is to have someone with a scanner turn it out. if it just came on, note the code that they see prior to reseting the light. cheers
