Sell it- would be the best idea

Go to You Tube Video first & see all
the engine issues there

Your going to put twice the amount into
the motor, than the vehicle is worth

SOURCE: rear liftgate 99 Olds silouette van won't open

I had the same problem. You can't take the panel off without having the hatch open. I had to pull it loose
under the window and squirt about a hole can of WD-40 in on all the door mechanism. When I got it open I found out that there is a hole in the bottom of the door about the size of a quarter that would allow
gravel dust and stuff in and rust the components and the lock making the door stay locked all the time.
After the wd-40 I pushed the lock & unlock button many times and it finally unlocked. I then opened the hatch and removed the panel and then I unhooked the lock motor so that it would not happen again.
It has been that way for 4 years now with no problem.

Oil light comes on when l start van then goes off..oil pressure is at 4

It may just need an oil flush and filter change, yes.
It could also be the oil pressure relief valve that is sticking. It may even be the oil pressure transmitter switch that is faulty (not a big job to replace..).
However, try a filter and oil change first. Before the old oil is drained from the engine, try adding an oil sludge clearance additive. Link below will show you what it looks like.
oil flush Google Search

If the oil pressure relieve valve is sticking, the additive-flush may unstick it, before you fill with fresh oil. Use a quality oil - not a cheap brand

To put things into context, as oil breaks down with miles and age it becomes less 'pumpable' around the engine. If there was something wrong with your engine in the crankcase area you would probably begin to hear knocks and rumbles as the bearings break down. You haven't mentioned any noises.. I don't think you have much to worry about.

The first thing you do is flush the oil system using an additive and then refill with fresh oil and a filter. You can also add an 'oil booster' additive if you wish:

Where is my gas line located in a 2000 oldsmobile silouette

  • Well, the fuel lines start from the top of the tank. You can follow them under the undercarriage of the van up behind the engine to the fuel rails to the fuel injectors.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using fixYa.

06 van has no reverse

Slow, slipping or no reverse: "lo-reverse" clutches are worn out, fluid leak in the reverse apply circuit, or broken sunshell. It is possible to remedy a fluid problem by removing the checkball from its cage in the case in the rear of the trans may help (must remove valvebody), or adding a high-viscosity additive such as Lucas Transmission additive or other seal restorer product. May also have worn boost valve (can replace in the pan).

Thank you for using fixa and good luck

I've owned a a 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager for a year now. I change my own oil in it. Twice now, when I'm done and checking the dip stick for the oil level, the stick is bone dry! The first time this...

The van must be on level ground while checking. after adding the correct amount of oil making sure to prime the oil filter before installing run the van for approx 30 seconds turn off and recheck after 1 min.

My 2000 GMC Safari AWD van has a valve leaking buy and runs ruff. would it be easier to remove the engine to do a valve job on this than to try to do it in the vehicle? Thank you for any info Keith

With proper techniques and removing panels you can do the job without removing the engine take your time to remove the panels not the engine and access will be granted to the engine. I hope this helps you in your quest please rate me . If you need further assistance you can always ask me.
