Is it because the cars battery is flat,or have you changed the battery in the remote,some times the tiny terminal in the remote gets squashed when you replace the battery, try checking terminals are all good. if all is well and the car battery is flat try removeing a registration plate light,and get a 12 volt feed to the bulb terminal at the same time push boot /trunk rellease button. good luck.

Had the same problem and had to cut a hole in behind the rear centre arm rest to retrieve both sets of keys. I cleaned up the area and made it into a ski hatch or for passing fishing rods thro. MERKYS320

Valet key is not supposed to operate the truck or glove box lock.

there are 2 clamp/clip-like devices on either side of the seat.

The trunk lock actuator is probably in valet mode. Remove the mechanical key on the side of your smart key and turn the trunk tumbler(ibeleive to the left). and put it in normal mode and it sh0uld start working. Your owner's manual will tell you about this operation. hope i have been helpful

1. Open trunk
2. Place latch in lock position
3. Pull inside trunk release to see what isn't moving
4. If trunk key won't turn, the key may be worn out and need to be replaced
