At stops battery votage goes up and down causing car to shake

I have a 1992 ford crown victoria it has 107,000 miles. most times i come to a stop the voltage pin goes a little crazy, it feels like cars about to stall but doesn't. once i start driving its fine. once in a great while it does stall. i was told battery and alternator are good. also the voltage pin is in the "normal" area, but its really close to the edge or the top of the gauge. any help would be apprieciated....brian

I have the exact same problem. I have a 1992 Crown Victoria LX with 102,500 miles on it.

Mr. Kane did you get the problem fixed? If so was it the altenator or something else.

You should check you altenator and get it tested.

Battery voltage needle goes up and down when my 92 crown vic idles. As if car wants to shut off.. what causes this problem?

The most likely problem here would be the alternator itself. Either the brushs are wearing out or the regulator is going bad. It wouldn't hurt to check the tension on the drive belt. If it was fairly loose that could cause the problem too. Hope this hrlps.

My crown victoria gets hot and it will just stop everything like u turn the key off. What would be the cause of that?

a faulty temperature sensor, lack of coolant, or oil. those are the likely causes of such things. have a trusted mechanic look into the problem

1998 Crown Victoria when you the hearter the engine surges the volt gauge goes up and down and the head get dim and the same time

check the battery connections, and the wires to the starter solenoid for corrosion,if they are OK then the alternator may be getting worn out, typically a Ford alternator should last to about 160,000 -200,000 miles

Turn signals stopped working!

IF YOUR HAZARDS STILL WORK IT COULD BE THE SWITCH ON THE STEERING, AS THEY USE THE SAME RELAY IF STILL NO LIGHTS THEN THE RELAY OR MAIN REALY FUSE HAS BLOWN, some time the hazard switch fails which wll also cause failure of all turn lights

U will need to pull the speedo head out and send it in for repair, there are no parts availiable to the consumer, only authorized Ford repair stations, that is not the dealer, check the internet, I use DNA speedometers.com

1993 ford crown victoria lx new battery, car stopped, won't turn on???

Sounds like you have a bad heater core. If steam is on the interior you may want to look for moisture around the floor at the firewall.
