This is built into the computer to have you keep coming back into the dealership for them to sell sell more things to you. Do Keep the oil and filter changed.
Here is the step to cut this light off
1 key on #1 position
2 go to mph display in the cluster
3 press trip odometer knob three times (QUICK) voltage will appear on display
4 Select service menu using + or -
5 Service Indicator Displays Items
6 Press the menu systems button until the MPH display appears
Hope this helps...
You can also buy this book that can tell you everything about your cars needed repairs when needed. Advance and Auto Zone sells them for your car, Chiltons Book they are about 19.99 but it has how to do the work step by step and instructions. Even a kid can follow most of this. Why pay for stuff that you do not need at the time. Hope this helps Happy Holidays and God Bless
SOURCE: where can I find engine oil dipstick on mercedes
These cars don't have a dipstick (really!). Using the steering wheel controls you can get to a page on the computer output (middle of speedo) that will give you an indication of oil level. Sorry I don't recall exactly which page it is, but the manual explains - I'm sure you can google it. If you do a normal journey (so the engine is up to temp) and then park on a level surface and wait a few minutes you get the true reading from this function. If you ask me it's all too clever for it's own good...

look for a red handle for the oil dipstick. it really depends on which engine you have.

how to reset the service light on mercedes benz e270 cdi avantgarde
SOURCE: 2004 E270 CDI Battery light visit workshop
I had the same problem in me 2004 cdi e270. Check the voltage going to the battery when the car engine is on. Stedy charge of 12v should be going in to the battery, if the voltage is volitale say between 11v to 14v then it your Regulator (which is attached to the backend of the alternator). You need to change alternator and then unplug all the batteries over night and re plug them back again. The problem should go away.
