Noise on my front passenger tire

There is a sort of knocking sound coming from my front right tire, it is mostly noticable when I am driving fairly slow, making a turn or hit a slight bump. When I drive on the freeway it doesn't make any sound, nor does it when I go over speed bumps. I took it to Discount tire today and they told me it was because I needed new tires. What a joke! They replaced my tires and the sound is still there.

This one really fires me up! First go back to Discount tire and "speak" to the manager. Tell him you want the actual problem fixed and that you want the cost of that repair subtracted from the cost of the tires since you didn't come in to buy tires in the first place. If he won't agree to that, DON'T pay them any more money to take pot-shots at fixing the problem. Take it to another shop but make sure to let him know that you'll be contacting his regeional manager, the BBB, and your local news papers consumer rip-off column writer. That said, it's very possible, depending on the miles on the vehical, that you may have a worn or bad ball joint or somehow something in the suspention has come loose, ie: pitman arm, control arm, shock, etc... The only way to know is to have a reputable professional inspect the front end.

Knocking noise around the front passenger wheel area!?

Do you feel it in the steering wheel? if so it could be the intermediate steering shaft. If not it could be a sway bar link or bushing.

I have a 2005 gmc sierra 1500 what would cause a roaring sound coming from my truck?

Hi. the noise is likely because you now have tires with a more aggressive tread. The bumpier the tire, the more noise you will hear. Had the same issue with my Sierra.

My 03 Century has a clunking noise in the right front end. It sounds very much as though the exhaust system is hitting against body. A check by mechanic indicates that this is not the problem. Have had...

Im not saying this is a definite answer, but since I worked at a dealer 90% of these cars had an issue with the lower control arm. it is exspensive but by simply haveing a person watch your tire movment as you shift from fwd. to rev. with your foot on the brake you will see the tire actually move back and forth when you shift it.

Front driver side suspension knock over bumps

See if you can bounce car and replicate the noise. If you can, you should be able to find it, and put your hand on it. Stabilizer bushing are a place to look, both at the lower a arm and on the frame. If you narrow it down to the strut, it will need to be replaced. The front trans mount also goes bad, try putting it in drive with your foot on the brake and give it some gas and see if the engine moves an excessive amount.

Knocking noise from rear passe ger side 2003

Your axle bearing is more than likely shot. The right side goes out first for some reason. Fairly inexpensive if you can do it yourself.

Very loud "rubbing " sound when driving only

you did damage to the wheel bearing i bet it sounds like a airplane sound. also if you steering wheel is off 7"then have front end aligned because this will destroy the tires and they will make noise.

96 Golf 2.0GTI 8v knocking noise from rear when accelerating

its probably your bump stops. the vw ones are very soft. i bought ford escort (the shape after the xr3) ones and cut them a little down to fit. i think the noise is either your shock touching or the sound of the tire scraping the body of the car. hope this helps.

Thumping at front passenger wheel area

if the noise isassociated with "wheel speed" then it is in the rolling parts... axle hub bearing brake rotor caliper wheel or tires...if it goes away on right turns then you are unloading or separating the issue then...so a hub /wheel bearing /axle issue is most likely...does your brake pedal pulse when you feel it..(riding the brake while driving)..does the steering wheel shimmy ?
