Our drivers side sliding door is getting jammed along the top runner, just under the bottom of the rear side window. the runner that is attached to the door has come loose, we can see it move. to close the door we have to physically lift and manipulate it without using the handle. is this something we can fix ourselves or does it have to be taken somehwere to be fixed?

what you have to do is make sure door lock is in unlocked position put a flash light inside the door to see you need to get a screwdriver into the release spring area try to pry up on the hook area that flips over the piece thats mounted to the door jam it should release sounds like you need to spray wd or blaster in the lock assembly return spring not kicking back

Try taking off the door, or spray some wd-40 on the rail. It sounds like its either not getting enough power or its getting caught on something.

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Pull back the weather seal and you'll be able to get to remove the bolts securing the outer handle on

You will have to open it from the inside-Yes, I have done it and it takes about 15 min. or so.-I have also posted about 40 images, after I opened the door-In an effort to contribute a little to all the lost souls with the Curse of the F150 3rd Door issue. Hope this helps-BTW I just did this on 12/04/2011-found my particular issue-I will need a new cable, so I'll have to go to the dealer tomorrow and buy one. Also included images of the tools needed-Good Luck!
