99 5.2 durango :pulled codes for multipe missfire cylinder #5-7

Started missing out after one tank of ify gas in arizona progressivly got worse. used scan tool to pull codes the codes were for multiple misfire on 5 and 7 cylinders. i changed plug, wires, cap, rotor. no change. neither the wires plugs cap or rotor had any signs of carbon tracks, cracks or fouling. researched further and assumed it might be an induction misfire.found the proper routing for wires in tps service bulliten. no change talked to mechanic who specialized in cylinder heads,he said the exhaust valve seats were going. recomended replacing heads.i checked compression all cylinder readings were between154 lb. to 165lb. so discounted new heads. the funny thing is when it is running (barely) i can pull both the 5 and 7 plug wires there is no change in engine but i can hear the what sounds like spark jumping from the spark plug top to the spark plug heat sheild while i am holding the wires away from the engine!!! i am stumped

Aloha We have just replaced all of what you have replaced, plus water pump, fuel pump, pcv valve and 02 sensor. Took it to mechanic today we had misfire on 1,2,6,7. Mechanic said that the 99 dodge is known for bad computers, he checked ours and works great turns out that it was the coil. Ours was jumping 1/4 inch and had a orange/yellow spark. it is supposed to have a 1 inch spark and be blue. This has solved our problems after 527 dollars later.
Check the coil!

The fuel injectors might be plugged with **** from the bad gas, try using 1 1/2 bottles of fuel injector cleaner next time you fill up. PLEASE RATE MY ANSWER.

My 99 durango will start up but u have to give it gas to stay running same when pulling down in gear

Change the gas filter. If car sat for 2 years without being started, the gas could be stale Put fuel system cleaner in gas tank. The car may need a double dose.

Engine misfire on multiple cylinders

Do you have any codes besides P030x? Are you using the stock 1999 5.2 PCM? Do your short-term and long-term fuel trims show anything more than + or - 10? Are your O2 sensors showing normal voltages? You give a long (and impressive) list of modifications, but have you had diagnostics run through the PCM. It is what's controlling timing and fuel delivery. If the problem isn't mechanical it's got to be in the control. If you don't have the gear, invest in the services of an experienced ASE certified mechanic.

After putting gas in my car, why did it start shaking really bad and idling real high?

After a fill up, the fumes in the gas tank are very concentrated. If problem with evap system, it could cause problems after a fill-up. Just a thought.

Chevy suburban 5.3 2006 random missfire on all cylinders

Have you used all the gas that was previously in the tank, It sounds like you have a slight water in the gas. If you haven't used any gas since it started this, then I would drain it out and re-fill it. Also what type of plugs are you running, this will have an impact on how the engine performs. Some people use the most expensive platinum plug and the engine will only perform with the mid platinum or the OEM. I have seen a lot of cars like this and once the plugs are changed to a OEM or a little better plug, the problems go away. Good luck.

99 suberban missing at idle after warm

Code shows missfire on No 1 cylider. When engine is cold it runs a rich mixture. If the missfire is still No 1 then check for vac leak on manifold. Perhaps a vac line or intake gasket.
