I had to remove the trunk lock so I could primer the trunk.Now I can't use my key to unlock trunk.It only opens when I push the trunk button in the glove compartment.How do I reset/fix this?

Unlock door with valet key to shut alarm off and remove the trunk release switch. Jump the trunk switch wires together for a second and it will open

does the lock unlock function work? if not you need to reprogram the key fob most likely. does the "B" on the boot(trunk) lid open the trunk? if not but the lock unlock function works on the key fob you most likely need a trunk(boot) motor or latch

Can you hear the lock click? You might need another person to listen while you activate the unlock mechanism. Can it be opened by a key? If so, try that. If it doesn't open, give a little push-down-and-release on the trunk lid while the key is in the unlock position.

If the lock makes no sound upon actuating an electric or lever-and-cable trunk-lid release, the problem is not user serviceable for the average car owner.

I could probably do the job, but I wouldn't, because it's too much work compared to the cost of an auto mechanic.

I don't know about your 1995 Ford Taurus, BUT I found that when the rear driver side seat was loosened, there were several cables running alongside the driverside rear (underneath the seat and connecting bolt). Pull gently on the cables...you will find one of them is the trunk release cable(which pops oopen the trunk). And lo....there were my keys inside the trunk. Took 5 minutes to take apart and put together. Good Luck.

If you hear the sound of the electric latch switch, then it's working but stuck somehow. Just put the key in the switch and turn it to the right and then pull up the trunk or ask someone to help you. it will open. I tried it today and it opened with me. It was stuck from inside by some kind of a broken plastic pieces. Just removed it and now it's working fine. good luck

Go to the trunk and put your key in and turn it all the way to the left and remove the key. This way by pushing the button at the trunk it will open, the trunk will lock when your doors are locked and the trunk will unlock when the doors are unlocked allowing the button at the trunk to work at that time. I'm not quite sure if your system works that way, or Try pushing the button that opens the trunk down by the hood release latch, or, you should have a remote key with the trunk open button on it, it should have 3 buttons, one is lock, one is open the car and one is open the trunk, if you have the automatic opening trunk, this should be the same, and to close it, just press the lock button and it should automatically go down again, as you did not specify what year yours is, one of them should do the trick...hope this helps

There are Valet keys (often with a green knob) that will
only unlock the front doors and the ignition but not the
glove box nor boot/trunk.

When either the front door locks or the console button is
pressed, all the doors should lock. Likewise, when either
front door is unlocked, all the doors fuel filler lid and if
selected, the boot will also unlock.

Boot lock has three positions. Unlocked to the left,
automatic with the doors in the center, always locked to the
right. Simply remove the key in what ever position you desire.

The locks can get confused and not work correctly. Simply
sit in the car and manually lock all the doors. That will
usually get the locking module sane again.

Try the trunk switch next to the driver's seat.
