The dash and tail lights in the above mentioned car, stopped working simultaniously. The head lamps and brake light work, still.
A mechanic said the fuses were good.

I have a 91 lincoln town car. When I turn on the head lights the dash lights go out, turn the head lights back off dash lights come on?????????
I have a 1991 lincoln towncar, this happened to me. Replace the main headlight switch. It is about a $35.00 part. Hope this helps!
I had the same problem but mine keeps blowing a fuse I put a new headlight switch and it still keeps blowing a fuse

From what you just said i dont belive the mechanic checked your fuses correctly.
Check your self to confirm, But if no avial i belive the controller for your lighting may be fried.

My Lincoln anti-brake light is on. My dash, blinkers and back light don't work either. We checked fuses and change autinator...still not working.
My heat is also not coming on or air...just a small bit of air.
