If your engine cranks normally but will not start because it has no spark, or it stalls and won't restart because it has no spark, the problem may be due to any of the following:

A bad pickup inside the distributor (on engines that have a distributor), a stripped distributor drive gear (common problem with plastic distributor drive gears), broken, loose or corroded wires from the pickup to the ignition module orPCM.

A bad crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (on engines that do not have a distributor), or broken, loose or corroded wires from the sensor to the PCM.

A bad ignition module (on engines that have a distributor or use an ignition module separate from the PCM)

A bad ignition coil (on engines that have a distributor and a single coil)

A bad rotor or distributor cap (cracks or carbon tracks that are allowing the spark to short to ground)

Faulty ignition switch.

Check spark at the spark plug by putting a screw driver up the cover hold it close to an earth and get some one to crank it over ,the spark should jump to earth.

i would deffinatly check the distributor if u pop off the cap check the little tabs inside try cleaning them off and putting it back together and try checking for spark again

If there is NO spark then starting fluid cant start any thing. I would be checking the crank sensor first for the spark then the ignition coil pack.

Sounds like the ignition system is not firing the spark plugs if starting fluid and gasoline doesn't solve the problem.

Verify by putting a spark tester on one of the spark plug boots and attaching the spark tester to the engine block or ground.

I would check the coil it might be a good place to start.

check spark plug wires and coils for moistore put some lube on the coil wires check for spark after it wont start if itll crank but not start its 1 of 2 thinks no spark or no fuel usally when the coils get too wet they wont allow spark to come through or will cause it to arc

Try to replace the fuel filter and then check the spark plugs. Mke sure to clean the spark plugs and after you clean the spark plugs and still the same it wont start replace the spark plugs and check the distributor as well.

the filter on fuel pump might be clogged as well or fuel pump needs replaced

will what have you checked for dose it have spark , dose it have fuel? if it will not start with starting fuild i would say that you have no spark . go to one of the plug wires remove it from the spark plug install a spark checker you can buy one at any parts store . crank mtr do you have spark. if not check another one that way you can rule out the coil pack still no spark may have a bad crank sensor . at this time i would take it in to a repair shop so they can test that item . unless you want to replace it and take a risk that it may not solve your problem good luck kdc744
