Trunk Leak I have a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado with a leaky trunk. The car has never been in an accident. I bought the car form my father 2 years ago and he never knew of the leak until I discovered it. What can it be? I hear these cars are notorious for trunk leaks.

They are sometimes located in the glove box on the left side or in a console.

Pull up the carpet and pad in the trunk to see if there is an access cover. If not then you'll have to drop the tank.

if the car has a power trunk release you can jump the switch using a piece of wire to just about any power source in the car such as a light or even to the batt.

Trunk motor worn two option replace it or have some one manually set it a position where the trunk is even and disconnect the drive gear motor,

the motors never burn out in a cadillac ive had them since 69 its always the switch on top , hook up a hot wire and a ground wire from a car battery to where the switch hooks up to and the hold down will go up and down , get your money back for the motor if you can , the switch is about 75 dollars from the factory, i herd a lot cheaper at a ford dealer because they are the same switch they use in big ford cars. the switch has 1 screw and one 2 wire harness, just a thought , you must know where the switch goes because you took it off the old motor and put it on the new motor ,,right?

The small switch is the trunk by the pull down motor with the flap that depresses down is at fault. That is what you call the truck pull down switch. You can take this part and show it to a Cadillac or Ford parts department sales person and get a replacement for you car. Ford uses the same part for their Lincolns and Crown Vic's. The part is made by the very same supplier for Ford & GM. Ford will sell this part at a much lower cost as well compared to GM

Try number 13. center of fuse block labeled deck lid. To fix the problem you will need a pull down switch. The always go bad from people slamming the trunk shut. See you gm dealer for this part.

Check antenna fuse with 12V test light. and seperately chech the #22 fuse 20A for the trunk release, Sounds like 2 diff problems. Hope this helps.

you'll have to remove back seat and squeeze in to pop the trunk from the inside. then you can find the problem. may need lubricant on latch. good luck
