Unhooking key switch dinger

I am trying to find out how to unhook the dinger that comes on when you put your key in the ignition switch in a 2002 F350 power strokeje

it is part of a larger control module, u can't disconnect it, but u can make it think the key is out of the ignition buy disconnecting the signal wire to the module from the key cylinder.

It should be just fine, unless you have something inside the vehicle that requires use of battery ( something added not factory)

Door dinger stays on after the car is shut off we have to unhook the battery everytime we get out of the car any solutions on why and how to fix it.

It sounds like the door switch needs replacing. They are dealer only products but cant imaging it would be costly. In the mean time try to duct or gorilla tape to keep it from killing your battery & having to unhook battery every time you want to go somewhere. Good Luck & I hope this helps you out/

WHEN DRIVING MY '97 CR-V CAME TO STOP PUT IT IN PARK BUT IT STAYED IN DRIVE HAD TO TURN IF OFF, KEY STUCK IN IGNITION HAD TO UNHOOK BATTERY, UNABLE TO GET IT OUT OF DRIVE

Could be the ignition switch. Honda issued a recall on 1997 CRV ignitions in 2002.

WHERE IN THE IGNITION SWITCH LOCATED ?NOT THE KEY SWITCH !

Take the plastic cover off the steering column, it's a black rectangular piece just to the left and down from the key switch. It is held in there by 2 springs, push these two springs in and the ignition switch will fall down. Unhook the terminals that are hooked to it, and replace with a new one.

Replaced fender silenoid and ignition switch under dash. Even after unhooking all terminals from starter, the positive cable from battery is bubbling hot. There is a faint clicking coming from under...

Tough one. First thing I would do is replace your cables, signal wire from ignition switch to solenoid included. Sounds like a short somewhere.

Ignition turns off immediately after turning. wont hold in run is there an easy fix or bypass? 1991 mercury marquis

They get real sloppy the ignition switches on most older fords.....unhook your battery then put the key in the run position and on the bottom of the steering column there is a small hole that is acceess to the release pin for that ignition swich ..you need a small screwdriver of lung thin punch to push that in and your ignition switch just comes our .
Go to the local wreckers or dealer and get a replacemen ........Keep in mind the key will be different from before so make sure the used one comes with a key

Change starter on 2002 tahoe now motor wont start

If you had battery unhooked and assuming that it is turning over try this Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. This relearns your key to the ignition it started with Gm cars and trucks from 1999 to to 2006. It is a big problem but there is no recall that I know of. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys

I have a 87 ford f250 6.9 idi it terns over win i put the batter cabel on the batter

try unhooking the ignition switch wire from the solenoid, if it still turns over, the solenoid is bad.
