Hi there, I have a 1999 Hyundai Excel Sprint and I cannot unlock the radio cassette. I've lost the security code card. Can you help?

I would also need to know the procedure for unlocking the antitheft system as the radio won't let me do anything. It just shows a background light when I turn it on, sort of like a dashboard light but no numbers or the word code written on the screen.

When you disconnect your battery and then reconnect it again, it disables the radio. This is an anti-theft protection for your car radio.
The enable your radio the activation code is in your vehicle owner's manual. If you do not have this code you need to go to your Hyundai service centre and get them to enter this code for you.

SOURCE: AUDI A6 RADIO CODE

I just posted a solution for this problem. It comes straight from the radio manual. The dealer should have told you this. If you want him to do it he'll charge money for his time. IF YOU LOST YOUR CODE. THE DEALER CAN HELP YOU OR IF YOU HAVE YOUR 4 DIGIT CODE: dd43c71.jpg

SOURCE: radio code for 1997 Hyundai Excel

if you have the owners log books for the car look to see if the code is in there
if you do not have it then you need to get the model and chassis number from the top of the unit
then you need to go to Hyundai and they will get the code number and they will give it to you
i think you are better off going and getting a new cd player and having that installed
hope that helps

I have taken all of mine to the dealer, the codes are fixed according to your vin# and there is a sequence to putting that code in. It cost about $25.00 the last one I had done and took about 5 min.

SOURCE: AUDI A6 RADIO CODE

try another dealer. maybe try to get ahold of one of the techs at lunch time. this info should be free to the car owner, just be ready to supply the title to the car for some proof. maybe try buying the parts guys lunch or coffee and donuts....this usually works for this type of problem. unfortunaley this info really is dealer only..

SOURCE: Reset code for a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT radio

unfortunately you would only have the code if you bought it new, each code is radio specific and can only be obtained by the dealer, if you have the owners manual it might have been written down by the original owner if that is not you

Hyundai Excel X3 / Accent X3 has trouble starting, a lot of vibrating and shaking.

This is starting to sound very much like a blocked catalytic converter on the exhaust system. Try unbolting the exhaust in front of the catalytic unit and see if it will start and run normally. If it does then the unit needs replacing, if not then thats me tapped out for ideas.

Hello Colin. You describe a radio which doesn't sound like any Hyundai Radio I've ever worked on. It seems to me the audio unit is 'after-market' and isn't supported by Hyundai Motor America or Hyundai Service Departments. Does it have a "Hyundai Emblem" on it? If it does, you can check with any Hyundai Service/Parts Department & have them check the serial no.

Hyundai excel 1997 sprint

Hi, if it is an early 97 12valve engine the plugs will be accessed through between the exhaust manifold sections at the front of the motor. if it is a 16 valve, then you remove the plug leads to get access undo them, then use the lead cap to remove the plugs, ie wqhen the plug is undone, push the lead cap back onto the plug, and lift it out. you certainly would not need to remove the valve cover.
