You can find the conversions in some phone books or a dictionary. or try metrics to standard conversion.com (i think) if the truck was infact made in japan then you definately have one of the best made. i bought two suzukys made in japan and the craftsman ship is much higher than the ones made in the states. ours ar 98 and 99 mods with no mechanical problems except the occasional brake jobs. everyone i know who have a suzuk made in the states have had probs and normaly starting in the 60k,s area gl

Do i need lock tool to change cam belt on a 03 grand vitara

I'd be first confirming whether you have a 1.6 litre Grand Vitara (petrol), or a 2 litre turbo diesel. The 2 litre petrol (straight 4 or V6) or 2.5 litre petrol engines are all chain drive.
If your engine is petrol then no lock tool is required (to hold the camshaft). Of course, there is a specific position that an engine should be rotated too before removing the belt from ANY engine.
If it's diesel, then although I'm unfamilar with that particular engine, the general requirement for diesel engines with high pressure injection pumps is "yes, you require a lock tool" to hold the injection pump pulley. As I think these are a common rail set-up, this requirement may not be necessary. Check with your Suzuki Dealer, or maybe someone else here will know more. A similar question may have already been asked and answered here too.

Car repair manual for a 1997 suzuki vitara v6 2ltr petrol 24v

Haynes don't cover that engine. I've found a copy of the H25 engine manual which is similar to the H20 engine we have. If you search for SQ416 in google you'll find a copy you can buy or if you're lucky you'll find a free download somewhere like I did!! :-) It has helped me loads.
