SOURCE: replace dimmer switch in 1997 honda civic

In 96-98 Civics the dimmer simply pushes in under the left dash vent and is held in place on both sides by metal flexing tabs (no screws). If it were possible to grab it you could pull it straight out with a bit of rocking / side to side motion to help to release it. Unfortunately the proper way to remove it requires removing the lower panel as follows:

You need to remove the plastic cover panel that is underneath the steering column (the one with the switches, coin pocket, and fuse box cover built in). To do this you remove three screws (one above the switches on the upper left, one in the lower left corner, and one on the lower right. You will then need to pull the bottom edge out slightly from the dash and tug the entire panel down towards the floor of the car as gently as possible. You will be pulling out three metal snap-in retainers at the top of the panel, two on the left and one on the right. It is often hard to remove plastic panels without damaging them so be careful. Now unplug the switches (mirror, sunroof, fog light) and set the panel aside. At this point you can easily reach behind the dimmer switch, push it out, pull it through the front of the dash, and unplug it.

Hope this helps

Where is the turn signal relay on a 2001 Honda Civic?

The problem is almost certainly the flasher relay. The turn signals and 4-ways use a separate flasher.

Look in your owners manual for location in the relay box.

If you don't have owner or service manual, and you can find the box, they are usually labeled on the lid.

If you can't find the relays (under the hood) then follow the auto zone advice.

At ozone will probably change it for you if you ask.

Will a1996 honda civic front door fit 2000 honda civic dx

The body style was the same from 1996 to 2000 for the Honda Civic. Are both of the Civics similar in body style as in they have the same number of doors? Not sure if a wagon or hatchback would interchange with a regular 2 door coupe.

I can't find the flasher relay on honda civic 2005 lx

If I can remember corectley on this car,
The flasher relay unit is common to both turn signal and hazards. Iit is located in the under drivers dash box. Remove the single visible screw (phillips head) and the fuse box will slide down (somewhat) on rails. The flasher unit is the larger of the black boxes that plug into the fuse box on the right side. I hope this is correct its been a while scence I work on this yr. model.
