1995 ford explorer fuse location

I need to know the location of the fuse for the 2nd cigarette lighter, the one on the passenger side center console.

thanks for the information, unfortunately my problem might be in the wiring harness. I checked the fuses locations you suggested and all the other fuses and they are all good. I did an ohm test from every contact in the fuse box to the harness connection in the center console and I get no connection to anything. Have you ever taken the dash apart on these? It looks like I'm going to need to get back behind the dash to trace the wire out.

Radio works, cd player in the center console glove box works, ash tray light works, the main cigarette lighter works. Another odd thing is I can't seem to find the same color wire at the fuse block that feeds the lighter itself.

the wire is a medium dark brown with two red stripes.

i realise this might seem like an odd question... is your radio working ?

  • Anonymous Feb 24, 2009

in that case it is in series with something else... let me know the colours of the wires and i'll have a look later... it's sort of time consuming so it prolly won't be till late tonite or tomorrow that i can get to it.

Try instrument panel fuse 17, AuxiliaryPower Rear. ...The instrument panel fuse block is located on the passenger side panel of the center console. To access the fuses, open the fuse panel door from the passenger side by pulling it out.

How do I disassemble the center console in a 2005 Ford Expedition to get to the cigarette lighter that fell into the center console.

All of the plastic simply pulls apart, but be careful to pull straight out. The plastic attaching pieces could be brittle. BTW, the whole interior trim disassembles in this manner.
Take your time.

Cigarette lighter not working, already changed fuse

Look in your manual for the Power Distribution Box reference in Roadside Emergencies. It should be located under the hood on the driver's side. My 2002 Explorer has two power points on the center console and the 20A fuses in the Power Distribution Box for them are number 7 and number 9. They cost $3.99 each at AutoZone. The cigar lighter fuse under the dash is unrelated.

No power to cigarette lighter bur fuse looks good.

Check you door lock fuse, located in the inside fuse box (center console passenger side) that did the trick for me.
