Buy pan and gasket, follow directions on gasket instructions on whether or not to use sealant. Call the dealer for bolt torque. If you don't have a torque wrench, take it in for repair.

How can I replace the oil pan?

You're going to have to use a tap to rethread the hole.
Personally, I'd find the next size plug, then drill and tap the new hole.
Afterwards, elevate on side of the car so any fluids inside run out and use brake cleaner to make sure you have all the metal shavings out. You could also use a small magnet.

Oil plug stripped

Remove the pan & silver braze a nut the same thread size
to the inside of the pan

That is the only permanent & proper fix I ever do

You could braze the oe thread that came loose if not stripped

You could get another pan but why spend the money,
fix yours

How do i change the engine oil of my 2002 ford escape? what tools and procedures do i need to follow? thanks

you need to have oil drain pan and a oil filter and oil filter wrench from any discount auto store. Is best to invest in one as Im assumed you going to change your own oil in the future. its fairly easy..no task at all. you will need to get the truck up in the air a bit so you can get under and get to the oil drain bolt. another items is good to investment is a car ramp cost about 30 to 40 bucks you can drive that car right up it and have plenty of room under. Don't get mix up with transmission plug and oil plug. Once you get underneath of it you would be able to tell and see one big bolt located on the bottom of the pan. Get a set of wrench I prefer a rachet so you don't round the oil pan bolt. Counter clock wise to remove the bolt. Look at your owner manuel book to see what proper grade of oil to use and the amount and make sure do not over fill it; overfill it can blow a gasket and seals, keep checking the dip stick. Most places offer 19.95 to 29.95 oil change and its not even worth doing it yourself even though they don't use the best quality of oil. Oil filter run around $8.00 and 6 quarts of oil $2.50 each come to $ 23.00 bucks saving $6 bucks for labor is not worth it. for me I would pay anyone $6 bucks to change my oil any day. I hope that help some ..good luck!

I need change the automatic transmission fluid Explorer 2002 E.B.

There IS a transmission drain plug on the 2002 Ford Explorer! It is, however, difficult to get the fluid back in as there IS NO dipstick (tube) to refill it. I installed the pan bolts far enough to hold the pan up (level) and then stuck a hose (attached to a funnel at top of engine compartment) through the opening between the pan and the bottom of the transmission. I was able to put five quarts in that way - no more as it will overflow (trust me). You can check other sites on how to check to see if that's enough and how to add more as needed. That's not simple either. Great idea Ford Motor Company (sarcasm) !!!!!!

Oil pan drain plug

The drain plug is on the back side of the aluminum oil pan, your going to have to use a 15 mm socket to remove the oil plug.
Good luck and here is a link to changing the oil for your escape if your have not done it before. http://fordescapefixit.com/oil.html
