You need a mechanic with a high level scan tool to check the Diagnostic Trouble Codes and Live Data. It is probably ABS Sensor related, but should never leave you with no brakes..

sounds like u may have disconnected the abs sensor(s) on the front end at the wheel hub. check if the clips are connected tightly or look for any frayed or bare wires near the hub.

Hand brake light as you call it , will come on when other thing's are wrong in the brake system ,not just when the emergency brake is applied . Low fluid in the master cylinder will turn it on, the ABS control module can have it turned on when their is a ABS problem . etc..... With the ABS , check engine light ,emergency brake light on , code's are stored in the EBCM - electronic brake control module . The speedometer info. come's to the instrument cluster from the EBCM . Probably have a bad wheel speed sensor . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop.

They are in a closed loop the ABS and the balance pressure switch. You likely have some kind of problem with ABS system .If one dosn't work it will effect the other light

Car run great the only issue is the dashboard brake light is flashing randomly. ...Finally, the instrument cluster is hardwired to the ABS module, ... Also,i change the parking brake switch and the light goes on & off less frequent.

Hi, check your cluster globes

Red lite comes on at startup to ck. system. If amber lite stays on, ck. brake fluid level and see if emergency brake is partly up. This shows problem with anti lock system if it stays on, not main brake system. If all is ok with this but still stays on Have ABS system checked. Haynes repair manual, 95-2003 Windstar, all models.

If the car sat for a long period, rust will form in the brake drums resulting in noisy brakes . Speed sensor signal loss is triggering ABS light and will not affect normal braking. Try having the back brakes adjusted to avoid premature wear of the front brake pads. (Brake Bias will be obtained between front and rear brakes)
