Ignition switch spark shorted something

II have a 1997 subaru outback and last night while my car boxed in two other cars I broke a key off in my ignition and neither I or a locksmith could get it out so I decided to take the ignition out myself and start the car without it, ya know hot wire it. well in about ten minutes the car was running and the steering wheel had been unlocked and I was driving when a blue spark shot from the the back of where the ignition switch was to a piece of the car that was grounded out and now the car wont start and I think it might be the ignition coil but not sure and dont know how to test it. Unfortunately the way I hot wired it does not allow me to check it using the spark plug input and seeing if it sparks. there is no noise when I try to turn the car over.

My 2017 Subaru Outback with just 666 miles on it had a dead battery twice in two days. What is the problem?

Have dealer repair this. One of your electrical circuits is not turning off and draining the battery after you remove the key or turn off the ignition.

Why are the headlights staying on when ignition is off

Under your hood is a plastic box with relays in it, the headlight relay is stuck. Tap it with something and it will release. Probly should replace the relay. See owners manual or google the headlight relay location. Cheap at an auto store.

After repeated stops my 1997 subaru outback will not start

Rule of thumb is Compression , Fuel, Ignition.
Check compression with a compression tester in the spark plug holes.
Make sure fuel is getting in to your motor ( when you remove the plugs check to see if they are wet , too much fuel , or burnt, not enough fuel )
Ignition: With the plugs out, connect a sparkplug to the plug lead earthing the base of the plug, wind the motor over. You should see a spark jump across the gap at the base of the sparkplug.
Once you find which bit isn't working, find out why.
Happy hunting

If you are getting sparks at the positive cable when attaching I would suspect a hard short in the system. Check that the starter has not shorted.

1997 subaru outback reset alarm switch

Under the dash by column on left side. 4" x4" black box. Look for small wire coming off box and usually wire tied. Has a small button at end. There are 2 screws on the center dash piece under column. Might make it easier to see. Hope this helps and have a great day.
