SOURCE: Starting problem

check the wiring for cracks, it could be that the coil is damaged and wont send a spark to the plugs.
unplug one of the spark plugs out put a rcrew driver in it close to the block or something metallic. put it down, have some one crank the vehicle " do not touch the cable if coil is alive you will see a spark coming out of it and will strike you "
if coil is alive then you have a plug problem. remove all plugs and replace them.

SOURCE: turns over but won't start after it sits for a day

I had a similar problem caused by humidity and a short in the distributor cap so replaced the distributor cap and rotor. Problem solved. Don't buy discount branded parts or you will have the same problem again in a few weeks. Really cheap price equals really cheap parts that will fail early.

If you have spark, try changing the fuel filter. If you don't have spark, get back to me.

I have a 1992 subaru loyale that will not fire. it turns over, but won't start. Same thing with a 1989 subaru gl??????

Have you replaced the timing belts recently? The timing belts in these cars run both the cams and the distributor. If one comes off or breaks the engine wont do anything. The fix is not too bad if it is just the belt(s)

My 1992 subaru loyale wont turn over. The temperature has been in the negatives past few days and it is not used to the cold weather could this be the problem? It has electric power enough for the lights...

May be the timing belt, is it getting gas? And is it getting spark? You can pull off one side of the black timing belt cover to check that or try pulling off the distributor cap and see if the rotor spins. If not, the belt is broken. That would be the easiest first thing to try.

I put in a used engine from another subaru loyale in my 1992 subaru loyale as the other through a rod. After the newer engine was installed it started fine and ran for about a minute then died. I checked...

I am not 100% sure but you may have a bad cam or crank sensor.
Now whether this car has those parts or not, you can find out from your local parts distributor or you can go online. Do you have a check engine light on?Good Luck Friend.

Fuel pump wiring diagram for a 1992 subaru loyale station wagon. where is the power plugin for the fuel pump located? inside the car or under the car?

Under the car, rear passenger side, just in front of the wheel well. The plug is located next to the actual fuel pump.
