I want to know if theres any way to stop the traction control. when my tires spin it pretty much cuts all power in my car.
No there is not
The traction control is embedded into the
ABS Braking System
It will, as you found out cut fuel injectors & on some
vehicles, fords, slam on the rear brakes
If I had the answer I would put it all over the internet
on how to disable it
It is useless in snow & you sometime can't even use the vehicles
Thank the Govt for that so called safety feature
By the time those system activate you already crashed
& don't need them

Your battery is located in the rear under your cargo floor. Where most cars would hide a compact spare.
SOURCE: where do you put the power steering fluid in a chevy hhr 2006 model
the power steering fluid resevoir is located on the passenger side of the engine compartment near the fire wall. mostimes in order to fill it you have to remove the altenator to remove the fill cap to add the fluid.

There should be a printed list on the inside of the fuse boxes, as well as in the owners manual. There is one box under the hood, and another on the right side of the console near the passenger's feet.
SOURCE: How to Turn off Service Traction Control and ESC messages
I had this problem with my 2007 HHR. I drove away with the service engine and the service traction light on. The car was stuttering through the gears. I took it back and they checked it. They disconnect some wires while they change the oil and one was loose. The service engine turned off but the service traction stayed on. We disconnected the battery for 3 minutes and it fixed the problem. Some of those other guys spent up to 300 dollars to fix the problem. Hope it works out for you.

Hello and welcome. the engine reduce power waraning is the key to the other problems. this is normally a problem with the electronic throttle system. the engine control module disables the traction control system when it detects a engine problem, in your case a problem with the electronic throttle system. you shouldnt drive with this concern. this is normally covered under the vehicles 100,000 mile warranty. you need to conteact your nearest dealer for help

You can pull the abs fuse for the winter & try just the standard braking if that works for you without commanding the hcu unit open first
ok thanks thats good info however my hhr is not equiped with the abs option so im not sure if that fuse will even be there
All OBD2 vehicles from 1996 & many before that have ABS all of them It is not an option it is govt requirement You can see the pump motor & hydraulic unit & all the brake tubing on all veh
