Not sure if my 94 trooper needs a fuel pump I turn on the ignition and the pump pumps out gas i only know this because i detached the fuel line right before the filter but after about 2sec. it shuts off. if i turn the key off right away and then turn it on the pump doesn't do anything unless I wait a couple of minuites then turn the key on. so I'm not sure if it's a bad pump or something in the ignition thats f**ked up and sending a signal back to the pump and shutting it off. What should I do first?
Can you hear a click during that 2 secounds? Thats the relay shutting off the pump just what its suppost to do. The pump does not run contenuosly, if it did it would burn up, thats what the relay is for, it kicks on and off to maintain the correct pressure to engine as needed. It will not turn back on until it resets itself because engine was not running, thats the way there designed.

so were shoudl i start it ran fine a couple weeks a go and it will run if i hold the throttle to the floor but it seems like it's only running on 1 cylinder and i've had the coil packs tested and theyre fine so is it the ignition control module under the coil packs thats causing the problems if so how do i test it because the parts stores in my area are no help at all
it is supposed to turn off after 2 seconds but if you crank it the pump will stay on
