ADDING KEYLESS ENTRY OPTION TO 2002 CHEVROLET IMPALA

If it is built without it then all you can do is this: http://www.bulldogsecurity.com/Products/453055507-model-ke1702-vehicle-keyless-entry-system.aspx If it is built with it then the ones you bought will not work. you will have to goto the dealer and get them programmed for the car. you cannot do it yourself

I have a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu and the keyless entry started working intermitantly and now randomly works maybe once a week. It wont pop the trunk or lock or unlock the doors. I replaced the batteries in...

Unfortunately you may not have a choice in the matter ! You have no idea of the electronics involved here . No one knows your GM vehicle better . And $ 85 dollars is a heck of alot better then $115.00 dollars a flat rate hour . Pep boy's , firestone , AAMCO .
The keyless entry system has the following main components:
• The transmitters
• The body control module (BCM)
• The remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR)--When you press a button on the transmitter, the transmitter sends a signal to the RCDLR. The RCDLR receives the signal and sends a X Link serial data message requesting the appropriate function from the BCM.

Customer Programming Method for Enabling/Disabling the RVS Feature
Using the driver information center (DIC), the RVS feature can be DISABLED and ENABLED just like other items programmable via the DIC. When a lock control, entry-remote entry, extended range (AP8) equipped vehicle has RVS added to it and the vehicle is not DIC equipped and the customer wants to disable RVS. The dealer will perform the DISABLED remote start function since the owner cannot perform the function on thier own without a DIC.

Important: All transmitters that are to be recognized by the remote control door lock receiver (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. If the system is placed in program mode, all previously programmed transmitters will be erased upon receipt of the programming signal from the first transmitter.
Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. Do not operate or program the transmitters in the vicinity of other vehicles that are in the keyless entry program mode. This prevents the programming of the transmitters to the incorrect vehicle. The order in which the transmitters are programmed is important. The first transmitter programmed will be transmitter #1, and the second transmitter programmed will be transmitter #2. Use care to program the transmitters correctly.
The scan tool must stay connected until all of the transmitters are programmed. All doors must be closed to perform this function.
Install CANDI module.
Install a scan tool.
Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
With the scan tool, select Vehicle Control Systems.
Select Computer/Integrating Systems.
Select the proper engine size.
Select Module Setup.
Select Body Control Module (BCM).
Select Program Key Fobs.
Follow scan tool on screen instructions.
Remove the scan tool.
Exit the vehicle. Attempt to lock/unlock the doors to verify the programming.
Operate the transmitter functions in order to verify correct system operation.

Purchased a new clicker.from g/m.i can't program it.i have replaced the transformer under the dash panel that was used.. i have been told 96 models has several transmitters on it.

1. Move all Keyless Remotes out of range of vehicle. (10 to 15 feet)
2. Turn ignition key to the ON position.
3. Push the TRIP/ODO button on the DIC (Driver Info Center) twice.
4. Within 5 seconds, push & hold the FUEL INFO button on the DIC until
the PKE light comes on and stays on.
5. Turn the ignition to the OFF position, but leave the key in the ignition.
The PKE light will begin flashing.
6. Bring one Keyless Remote into range. The PKE light will stop flashing
and stay on to show the code is stored. Move the Keyless Remote out
of range. The PKE light will begin flashing indicating the system is ready
for the next Keyless Remote.
7. If more than one Keyless Remote is being programmed, move the first
Keyless Remote out of range and repeat step 6 for any additional Keyless
Remotes. Up to three Keyless Remotes can be programmed.
8. To turn off the programming mode, simply remove the key from the ignition
or turn the ignition switch on.
9. The programming mode will shut off after two minutes if.
A) You have not programmed any Keyless Remotes.
B) Removed the key from the ignition.
C) After three Keyless Remotes have been programmed.

Good luck and keep me posted.
