Xterra won't start when the battery has juice free of corrosion and starter is freshly installed

Ok I just bought this 2001 Nissan xterra, drove fine within a week and then it died on me and left me stranded in the mountains. Wont turn over at all, but is getting power. Tried jumping but wouldn't start. Battery cables weren't loose or corroded. Tow truck guy checked the starter and said it spun but wasn't engaging. Towed back home and it started right up. Drove it the next day seems fine then went back to start it again nothing. Just died completely. I'm getting all the power but engine does not want to turn over. It got me confused so I got under the car and tapped the starter but still nothing. Battery and terminals are fine. So I replaced the starter and still no sign of engine turning over. Just the sound of the solenoid. I am at a dead end. Please brighten my day. What in the world is wrong with it?

Check the cleanliness and tightness of the battery terminals. Loosen, twist and retighten them. Also check the cleanliness and tightness of the black earth cable where it attaches to the engine block/bodywork. A bad earth can cause the symptoms you describe.

A quick check you can do is to connect a jump cable to the battery negative terminal - the earth - and connect the other end of the cable to somewhere suitable on the engine/bodywork.

If the car starts no problem with the jumper cable - it's pointing towards a bad earth/connection somewhere on the battery earth

SOURCE: After changing the starter and alternator and

Check and make sure you are getting power to the ignition switch and to the stator wire on the starter. Turn the key on and and measure the volts going to the starter on both wires. You should a atleast 12 volts going to the stator wire and to the main wire from the battery. If you are not getting power there it could be a fuseable link in the power wire from the ignition. I noticed that you replaced the ignition switch make sure the rod from the key switch has not come out of the switch.

2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x spartically wont start in the cold. If it is plugged in it is ok unless extremly cold. New Battery and no corrosion

It is likely that the problem with your 2012 Nissan Xterra Pro-4x not starting in cold weather is related to the battery or the starting system. If you have already replaced the battery and there is no visible corrosion, then it is possible that the starting system, including the alternator, starter motor or starter relay, is not functioning properly in extremely cold temperatures. You can have the starting system and alternator tested by a professional mechanic to determine the cause of the issue. Another possibility is that the engine oil is too thick in the cold temperatures, making it harder for the engine to turn over. In such cases, it's recommended to use a lighter weight oil in the winter months.

Checked Cables how?

Looking & Touching isn't doing anything

You have to do a voltage drop test or remove
& clean the ends. I would do both

Remove the starter & have it tested at parts store,
assuming you don't know how to do a voltage or
current test while cranking.
