1992 dodge ram250 flasher not blinking

Where is the unit located to get turnsignals to flash

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

The header list 2 different vehicles but the flasher is in the fuse box. It generally is round, you might want to take a look at the owners manual if you still have it and it will direct you to the exact position in the box and where it is located. Have you tried to see if the bulbs are bad first, just a thought

If you do not hear the relay turning on and off then start with the relay first, if it's not listed on the underdash fuse panel then try the backside of the same panel, it's a bit of a pain to get to, but flasher units sre normally found in that area.
Hope this helps.

I suggest first check FLASHER unit. On 2001 Dodge Truck RAM 1500 1/2 ton 4WD 5.2L SFI 8cyl the Flasher is located on seating area, driver side, at the left side ofinstrument panel on fuse block.

Hope this helps (remember to rating this free answer and leave a testimonial comment).

My turnsignals won"t work. It will blink manuelly.

first I would try replacing the flasher first, although I don't think it is the flasher it sounds like it;s the turnsignal switch or what they call the multi-function switch

I have turnsignals problem on 92 buick lasabre limited i replaced flasher, all bulbs are good. if i manually move the turnsignal lever up and down the bulbs will flash also hazard lights work what else can...

When you say you replaced "flasher" I'm guessing you mean the combination turn signal flasher unit. If the hazards "flash" on the 4 way but the turn signal does not you are looking at a turn signal switch type problem. ... If 4way flashers do NOT work you need to check wiring immediately around the flasher unit mounting area.Or change Flasher unit Good Luck.

Where is the turnsignal flasher located?

Hi, well it should be under the dash, around your left knee area (while seated in drivers seat).

2000 toyota camry turn signals not working. Fuses check out and bulbs good.

Hi, i recommend testing the switch and flasher module. i will post the testing procedures for both devices. replace the device that is faulty.

To test turn signal switches, use a 12-volt test light to probe for voltage into and out of the switch. The ignition switch must be in the RUN position for the circuit to operate. If voltage is present on the input side of the switch but not on the output side, the switch is faulty.

FLASHER TEST PROCEDURE---
  • A test light can be used to determine which flasher is used for the turn signals and which is used for the hazard warning light.
  • An easier way is to turn on both the directionals and the hazards. This activates both flasher units.
  • By removing one of the flashers, the affected circuit no longer flashes.
  • Therefore, that flash unit controls that particular circuit.
  • If the turn signals fail to operate and the fuse is good, the flasher has probably failed.
  • Occasionally, the flasher does not flash as fast as it once did, or it flashes faster. This is also cause for replacement.
  • If it flashes too slowly or not at all, check for a burned-out bulb first.
the flasher is located in the Front seating area, driver side, driver side of steering column, mounted in corner behind instrument panel

If the turn signals operate properly in one direction but do not flash in the other, the problem is not in the flasher unit. A burned-out lamp filament will not cause enough current to flow to heat the bimetallic strip sufficiently to cause it to open. Thus the lights do not flash. Locate the faulty bulb and replace it.

I CHECKED THE TERMINAL AND THE FUSE MY TURNSIGNALS

Probably the flasher unit, it is under the top column cover (behind the steering wheel) and plugs into the multi-function switch. There are two phillips screws that hold the covers together, accessible from the bottom cover.

Buy one from the dealer only, as the aftermarket ones are junk and most don't work.
