Engine light still on

I have a 1998 audi A6 and the check engine light is on. When hooked up to the computer it reads incorrect purge flow and emissions control valve. I have replaced the hoses on the entire car and checked and rechecked the gas cap. Any suggestions?

This is the valve that connects to the carbon cannister, try to clean out the whole throttle body, all breather pipes going to and from the throttle body and the purge valve ( carbon cannister )

I'm just change the engine A4 1.8A 1997 to A6 2.0A 1998. The problem now the new engine cannot idle after ignition, only can stand for a few second. Some friend recommended to change the air flow sensor....

Hi Roza,
I think you'll have to replace more than the air flow sensor. I think you'll also have to replace the management system. I believe the engine you've used in fact doesn't use an air flow sensor, but instead uses a manifold absolute vacuum sensor which is incorporated into the management system (The engine management computer). The electronic system used for the one engine is not compatible with the other as far as I know....You may find you have to do a good amount of rewiring to the vehicle!

I have a 1998 audi a4 2.8 code po441 keeps coming up could tell me what it means

This is what I got from a google search;
p0441 (vag 16825) = EVAP Emission Contr.Sys.Incorrect Purge Flow
The evap system has several valves and solenoids that control purging of evap gases from the fuel system. Most likely one of these valves is not opening/or is stuck open. If something is stuck open it could actually lead to the above 16839 fault code.
Hope that helps.

Coolent system fault symbol Audi A6

1998 Audi A6 2.8

It could be that the thermostat is stuck in the open position thus providing maximum coolant flow through the engine when the engine is still cold, ie from a cold start. (The thermo should close when the engine is stopped and cold and it opens up once the coolant temp increases and the engine has been running for a few minutes.) Once the engine is hot maximum coolant flow between engine and radiator is normal.

Do you also find that your heater takes a while to provide warm air to the cabin in winter when you notice this condition?

If you do not know when the thermostat was last changed then I would suggest you change it. ( If it malfunctions and sticks in the closed position you will really have a problem). The radiator/engine coolant could no doubt do with a flush and change in any event as it should be done every 2 years. If you don't know when it was last done - do it. Cooling systems tend to be a neglected part of essential vehicle maintenance.

1998 A-6 quattro 2.8L V6 (AHA) I have two codes coming up PO432; states, main catalyst efficiency below threshold (bank2) PO441; states, Evaporation Emission system incorrect purge flow. The car runs...

PO432= 1 OF THE SENSOR IN THE EXHAUST SYSTEM if u stand in front of engine to your rt under the car should be a oxygen sensor just unplug it and put a new one.....(bank2)
PO441 = Evaporative Purge Flow Monitor check your fuel cap and replace all of your vacuum hoses because they can be damaged or plugged this should fix it.
So good luck to ya....

1998 Audi A6 check engine light

What I would suggest is taking the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for any fault codes that it has stored. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. That should eliminate the need for speculation. It could be an emission related problem or it could be something totally unrelated. Better to get the codes to narrow down what the computer has noted. Hope this helped and best wishes.
