Install the main bearing cap bolts and the cross-mounted main bearing cap bolts.

Tighten all of the main bearing cap bolts in two stages.

Stage 1: Tighten the vertical fasteners 1 through 10 to 37-43 Nm (27-32 lb/ft). Rotate fasteners 1 through 10, 85-95 degrees.

Stage 2: Tighten the cross-mounted fasteners 11 through 20 to 27-33 Nm (20-24 lb/ft). Rotate fasteners 11 through 20, 85-95 degrees.

Tighten the connecting rod bolts in two stages, using the sequence shown.

Stage 1: 40-45 Nm (30-33 lb/ft)

Stage 2: Rotate 90-120 degrees

connecting rod caps cracked type rod-rod and caps must be kept in matched sets, recommend new bolts/nuts, spec is 32 ft lb. plus 105 degrees - torque each item to the correct torque then go back and do the degrees. these are torque to yield bolts and the procedure is very important.
