Van Cuts Off In Drive

My moms van cut off on her today, she was able to start the vehicle but the vehicle cuts off when placed in drive. I started the van and tried it in reverse and it moved in reverse, again in drive it cut off, I then tried it in second gear and I was able to drive for a little bit to make it to her home. Can you offer your opionion on this.

check and test relays you really dont hear an immobilizer kicking out most likely a relay overheating --also scan vehicle for code[s]

AT a guess i would say this is an earth connector loose,check all the leads anyway

take it in and have the fault codes read
when engine lights start flashing that is the time that you look immediately to have the codes read

Van starts, hesitates extremely bad then motor cuts off. if i push on the gas at all it cuts off

I Had the same problem with a 2000 ford windstart. When I pysh the gas all the way its start cutting so bad and when I scan the computer i found out that the engine is running lean on fuel. and the Customer said he doesnt wanna fix it and he can drive it without pushing the gas all the way down. lol

Took the Van in for inspection and it failed. Had

Check all vacuum sources for a leak. I wouldn't race engine over 3000 without a load on it.

Dash lights are staying on/van cuts off after start

Vheck for a dashboard groung wire. It should be aon the passenger end screwew to the dash frame and the body ofthe vehicle. AND! There is a ground strap from the engine to the body. It is on a bolt on the top of the engine in a spot the engine is nearest to the body. Make sure all grounds are cleN AND SECURE, GOOD LUCK,_NED_
