Question about 1998 Ford Expedition
98 expedition suddenly runs rough... seems the spark plug was suddenly forced out which damaged the ignition coil. this happened 3 times within the last 2 years (different one each incident). when replacing the latest plug/coil and it still running rough we noticed the pipe off the exhaust manifold and before the cat on passenger side gets red hot... does this sound like cat is blocked? if so would that have anything to do with the plug/coil problems i have had? would it cause back pressure/combustion in the engine over the last year to give me the problems im having?
Romove poping plug start engine if thier is major air pressure coming outyou have ahole in your piston replace piston overhaule kitand new piston possible thred damage on head, replace cat,and get a dog:) good luck.

I'm wondering if you could have a burnt exhaust valve cause by the exhaust leak in the cylinder where the exhaust leak was.

I suggest to get the codes checked so you're not chasing a moving target. You'll need to look online - check out the Ranger/Explorer forums - or get the Factory Service Manual (FSM) to get the technical info you're requesting.
