2001 Jaguar S Type 4.0 No heat No a/c

2001 Jaguar S Type 4.0 V-8 No heat or cold air... Seems to just blow ambient air temperature regardless of the setting. I have flushed and re-filled the coolant. I have attempted to charge the A/C system with R134a, but the system doesn't seem to want to take any. When I connect the can, it feels like a small amount of refrigerant enters the system and the compressor kicks on, but then nothing more. It doesn't seem to matter if the a/c is on or off.... still same performance. I have checked the lines going into and coming out of the firewall and when the car is at normal running temperature, all lines are hot to the touch (if you can stand to touch them). Any ideas on what the problem may be?

The common prob is caused by the wiring to the dual control valve corroded/oc behind the front bumper liner. the centre of the 3 wires going to it are favorite and should have battery voltage going to the centre wire check that using a load ie.a 21watt bulb bet its missing if so remove bumper liner untape the wiring and find o/c and repair or rewire the power from the underbonnet fuse box just above

SOURCE: 2001 JAGUAR S TYPE AC BLOWING HOT AIR. HAD FREON

Hi

Other than Freon and compressor there are other causes related to car AC not blowing hot air. It is also common that the radiator or the condenser is clogged up with bugs, dust and dirt, or road debris and trash. Get it cleaned. Hope it helps. Also if you think your car air conditioning is not blowing cold enough the first step is to check the output temperature at the center duct with a thermometer. Make sure the recirculation or max air mode is selected and the blower is on low speed. 40 - 50 degrees is perfect. On hot humid days here in south Florida 55 degrees is welcomed. Step 2 is to have a professional connect a manifold gauge set and get some high and low side pressure readings. With these readings a logical path of diagnosis can get your AC blowing cold as it should be.

2004 Jaguar X-Type AC not always cold, compressor and condenser have been replaced. Could it be Ambient Temp/Solar Sensor? Are those located under dash where dash and winshield meet?

The ambient outside temperature sensor is normally located in the front grille area (outside the cabin) and is only there to display the outside temperature inside in the display.

What you call the 'Solar Sensor' on the top dashboard fascia is an ambient cabin temperature sensor, which does relay cabin temperatures to the BCM

https://www.ebay.com/itm/153020798034

This contradicts and looks nothing like it

https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/find/2004-jaguar-x-type-cabin-air-temperature-sensor.c36050472

There also a sensor in the rear of the mirror to sense the ambient light and turn the headlights on when it is dark and you are in 'Auto Mode'. That one is nothing to do with the AC. On my car that is on the upper dash.

When the car is in sun, the bodywork is heated by the sun and your AC is struggling, when it is in the shade, it isn't and is cool.

Take it back. There is either a leak from when they replaced the parts, or there is a new issue. A pro grade scan tool computer will diagnose the issue based on data from the ECM and BCM.

My heater blows cold air. I have had it checked. The water is hot and is running properly through. Mechanic had no explanation as to why only cold air was blowing in and not hot.

It seems to Me that, the heatercore is not functioning properly. Its just like a radiator, the hot water runs through the core, once the thermostat opens at it's set temperature and having the blower motor on, it should blow out hot air.

Climate control only blows cold air regardless of

check your coolant level, and thermostat, if everything there checks out then it is probally a little door deep within your dash that swings open and closed with the temp settings on climate control, but if you a re low on anti freeze or your themostat is not working it will affect the temp of the air pushed out

No heat from a/c

Most likely a faulty heater tap not allowing engine coolant to flow into heater core, check the heater tap for correct operation.

02 Jaguar S Type - Heater blowing cold air

Has the vehicle overheated recently, if not there is a failure of the Coolant from engine valve controller, that measures flow through the Heater Matrix. Come back with more, as necessary.

Front a/c problems

There is probably a temperature blend door in the duct-work under the dash that is inoperable or stuck in the heat mode.

Heater on blowing cold on driver side and hot on passenger side

This sounds like an air damper is not operating, maybe a cable sticking or a vacuum line come off.
