97 Toyota 4 runner 2.7 4wd auto. I did an engin shut oe swap and it ran great for about 2 weeks. The guy was heading to work and at suddenly it started acting like the fuel pump was bad and itff. After cooling it ran fine again till it got hot. It was acting like an ignition module, but after a few days it wouldn't start at all. Changed coils and fuel pump and crank and cam sensors, no spark noted, and I cant find a ignition module. What could the problem be?

SOURCE: 92 toyota celica cranks does'nt start no spark at plugs 124,000 miles

SOunds like the timing belt has broke. To check you can take off distributor cap and turn over engine and see if the rotor turns. If not you have a busted timing belt. Please rate this a fixya if this helps. Thanks!!!

SOURCE: my 1994 toyota camery wont start it was acting

i do not have the extra money to pay a repair shop i fixed the problem myself for less than 150.00 it would have cost me that much to have the car towed to shop and have them just look at it and tell me what it might be and try to sell me repairs i dont need i was looking for an alternative to going to a mechanic thats why i was asking anybody else if they had similar problems

Swapped engine fro 97 aspire manual trans into 97 aspire w auto trans now engine wont start, fuel fine no spark to plugs. all wires are connected engine ran great in the manual car

If yu still have the other engine try switching the distributers.. could be a IGN Module which lives in side the distributer.. Or take the module out and go to Oreillys auto parts and have them test the module.. Since it sounds like you did the swap yourself.. Go back over everything on top of the engine and make sure all connections are plugged in corectly. The computer provides power to the module.. check to see if it is getting power. look at the wiring diagram and find out what pin on the computer is suppling this single.. and test it.

1997 Toyota Truck 4 Runner 4WD 3.4L EFI DOHC 6cyl, blown head gasket?

Could be a blown head gasket. You might also need to "burp" the system. When the vehicle is completely cooled down, try taking the radiator cap off, topping off fluid, and start the engine. That should help get air out. If it starts bubbling and shooting coolant out, something is wrong. You could also try running without the thermostat or just go ahead and replace it. They aren't usually expensive.

Are the parts from a 1990 toyota 4 runner interchangeable with a 1991 4 runner? I'm not looking to swap the engine, just the exhaust system, power window motors and such.

most parts from 90-95 will interchange. also, alot of parts from the pickups during those years are interchangeable with the 4runner.
