My 1994 Buick Park Avenue runs fine but starts only sporadically...When the key is turned all the array of dash lights light up but there seems to be no connection between the ignition and the starter. Sometimes it starts fine. The battery has plenty of juice. I've had the starter replaced but it only improved the problem for a short time. It has 248,650 miles on it but runs great
How long did the starter last for that you bought ??? if its still under warantee then get it replaced as thats where your problem is at
I'm pretty sure it isn't the starter...had work done on it several times but it seems as if the starter isn't getting the start command from the key turn
then tyr rekeying it with a new key that has the diode in it(lil black chip) if that is bad it will do the same
Thanks for the suggestion...I took out the spare key and tried it but it is the same situation. This is an intermittent problem...sometimes it starts, sometimes not (currently "not"...). There seems to be a relationship with the weather meaning that when it is cold/damp (I'm in Northern California) it is more likely to be a problem. Less likely when it is hot and dry. It feels as if a circuit isn't closing...the battery is fine, the lights all fire up on the dash, etc
