yes a screwdriver or pliers depending if you can see the lever from where the key fits from .just turn it or open the lock itself

SOURCE: which relay in the fuse box is for the fuel pump

Remove the driver’s side instrument panel side cover to access the fuel pump relay. Look on the inside cover of that panel....it should show which one it is.

This happened in my '01 galant as well. If you take a peek under where the handle used to be, there's a little square nook with a spring and a little plastic tab. take a key and stick it right above the tab and press down, and the glove compartment should just pop right open. If it doesn't work, then it's probably just locked. Just unlock the door and try it again.
