Garage supposedly did a block test and have air in the coolant. they are saying it's the head gasket. just not sure how much I believe them considering in the same week the same garage said my other vehicle needed an intake gasket. seems funny that two different vehicles both need the engine expensively fixed.
Check the heater hose's going in through the fire wall ,are they hot ? Both hose's ! This is something you can do yourself ! If they are hot probably the temp actuator is bad or the door is stuck on the cold or heater core clogged ! Video's on youtube showing what to check. Learn to double check your mechanic !

My 05 sentra with 79k miles heat will warm up and then get cold after a mile of driving, we have tried to get the air pocket out, the mechanic stated he thought it could be a blown head gasket, another mechanic said it was a bad heater core. Any advice would be appreciated.

i have a 2005 1.8 nissan sentra.i rplaced the radiator becuause it was leaking.so when i did i took it for a test drive and the needle went to hot then back down to middle ways between the C & H BACK IN FORTH.so i replaced the thermostat. now as far as i can tell it is staying in the middle of C & H. i can't feel no water though cerulating through the top or bottom hose of the radiator. so now that i told you what i done so far my question is???? ( my heater is not working in the car it is blowing out cold air & i left the car runnng for about 45 min. even took it up and down the road.still cold air.what do you think i need to do?????????? )

Start the car up when it is cold and rev the engine up for 30 seconds,loosen up the radiator cap and see if there is pressure there..If there is you probably have a bad head gasket...Caution do not open cap if engine is warm...

only one thing will cause this problem and thats the head gasket ,its pressurising ,no heat either as water is being blown out ,sorry to give the bad news

Does the engine heat up to operating temperature??? It could be a clogged heater core, so a reverse flush may just help.
