A fusible link is a wire designed to burn out if too much voltage for a component it is wired to travels through the circuit. You have to buy the same gauge fusible link to replace the one burned out. cut the old one out and simply splice a new one in using high voltage splice connectors. As for the fuse ..check under the hood and replace 1oo amp fuse.. You may have some difficulty getting it out if it has melted badly.. just take your time and note how the fuse is installed.

SOURCE: HOW TO REPLACE 100A FUSE ON 1994 LEXUS GS300

The 100 Amp alternator fuse is blown under the hood in the fuse block, it has a clear plastic cover on it for inspection, the designation is marked inside the fuse panel. This fuse is bolted in inside the fuse box, the fuse box has to be removed and opened to get to the bolts that connect the fuse in.

Unscrew the gas cap, wait 30 sec and screw it back on making 3 clicks/cracks. Should be ok in a day or two.

1997 chevy 1500 fusable links diagram

Fusable links usuall don't have a diagram ,,,, the protect major electrial circuirs or coponants ie Alternator, Glow plugs, Battery, Aug power systems etc and are a serious fuse .60A - 100A normally , located as close to the battery "+" terminal and with heavy single wiring or in the under the hood fusebox (large oversized fuses). When the fusable links blow it's a major short in the wiring/circuitry.....

99 hyundai sonata brake light and battery light is on

I would recommend you take it to a shop and have the alternator tested, or take the part off the car and have it bench tested in a store.
You may also have a bad fuse or fusable link between the battery and the alt.

How do I remove the fuse box to replace the ALT Fuse? I removed the lower half of the fuse box, but can't seem to get the top half removed.

FUSE LINK LOOKS LIKE A FUSE.JUST USE FUSE PULLER OR PAIR OF SMALL NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS TO REMOVE FUSE OR FUSE LINK TO ALTERNATOR..BESURE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE IS DISCONNECTED FIRST TO KEEP SHORTING OUT OTHER FUSE LINKS AND FUSES IN THE CIRCUIT.TURN OFF RADIO FIRST BEFORE REMOVING NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE

2000 solara 4 cyl. many electricals do not work, but car starts!

You blew your ALT 100A fusible link behind the battery in your fuse box.
It is a large white/clear fuse-type square with a clear top. YOu should be able to see the 'fuse' through the clear top has blown.

The fusible link is bolted from the bottom. so you will need to lift the fuse box and pop the lower cover off enough to access the screws holding it on.

The ALT 100A link provides power to all of the items you listed that are inoperative, but the car will run fine without it :)

None of my electricals work but car starts

Are you sure they all looked good under the hood? The large 50A fuse may be bad; test them, not just look at them. A fuse tester os $3 ... sometimes free with purchase of a small box of fuses.

It may also be an in-line FuseLink on the red wire.

Hope this helps!

100A battery fuse blown?

They more than likely shorted out your 100a link fuse by grounding out your alt cable while replacing it. Sounds like they didn't disconnect the battery before hand. Your car has an idle program which it re-learns every time you lose power, or in your case, turn off the switch. You need to replace this fuse or your car will not charge.
