Did they replace the thermostat? If so check to make sure that nothing is plugging the radiator or heater core?

SOURCE: Car is overheating. Not sure if I should replace

If your car is leaking coolant from the water pump. Replace the water pump. If not replace thermostat first. It is the cheapest out of the 2.

Possible head gasket compromised. Take to a shop to test for HC's in cooling system or block test to confirm.

Do the cooling fans work ? Could be the step motor that controls the temp. gauge . How are you determining that the vehicle is overheating ? Gauge on insturment cluster ? GM had bad step motors inside thier insturment cluster's . 2003 to 2006 ! Your best bet , take it to GM dealer .

1997 jag xk8 overheated, replaced thermastat and Waterpump still overheating?

Last year my car suddenly overheated while idling to the point the coolant tank exploded. I took it to a foreign car repair shop where they replaced the coolant tank and put in another thermostat. It didn't make it home before it overheated again. I took it to the Jag dealership where they felt that my hoses had expanded to much during the overheat so they replaced all of my hoses to a tune of $1000. Three months later it overheated again. I took it to another foreign car repair shop where they discovered the real culprit. An impeller had broken off of my waterpump, I had a blockage in my radiator, and I had a short in one of the coolant fans that made it only work part of the time. So about $2400 later my car has been coolant issue free for about 2 years now. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Overheat 2001 hyundai tiburon

Only 2 parts remaining are the thermostat and waterpump. Always start with the thermostat when diagnosing an overheating problem. If the car is overheating constantly under all conditions and coolant is backing up into the reservoir, it's very likely to be the thermostat. If it only overheats at low speed or idling, it's more likely the waterpump.

VW Golf 2.0 is overheating after replacing thermostat.

there is a strong possibility that the impellers on the waterpump are broken!!!!. they are made out of plastic and are notorious for breaking. ck this first have seen it countless times. make sure new waterpump has metal impellers.
