They want all the fuelto burn in the cylinder for extra power.they figured that extra spark would accomplish this..dodge has always been a bit wierd on their v-8s so expect some wicked engineering..but also some extra headaches..

SOURCE: dodge ram 1500 hemi

That motor has 16 plugs. You remove the coils and they are under there. It has 2 plugs per cylinder. Positive crankcase ventilation valve is what is referred to by pcv valve. It is usualy near or in the valve cover with a vacume hose to the intake. Some dodges screw it in to the intake and run a hose to the valve cover. If you can't find it let me know and I will look in the book. I hope this helps you. Thanks....Dan

SOURCE: two dead cylinders no spark on 1 nor 6 cylinders

Based on your readings, the fuel trim of -33 shows that it is running rich on that bank. Disconnect the coil on number one cylinder. With a 12 volt test light connected to ground, probe one of the two wires (engine running). One wire should be hot all the time, then connect the test light to a positive source (battery B+) and probe the other wire. The other sould be flashing on and off while running. The PCM provides ground to the circuit to fire the coils. If you don't have a pulsing light then the PCM circuit is faulty, if no constant power than the coil power source is in question. Don't attempt to fire the coil for testing without a load attached (spark plug) this burns out the driver in the PCM. Check continuity of the driver wire from PCM to the coil, if it is good and the other wire has power then the driver in the PCM is bad and a new PCM is what it will need. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: how do you reach to last four spark plugs on a 2004 dodge ram 5.7

Having the proper length socket is a must. I assume you are talking about the # 5 and 7 cylinders. We just changed ours today. You have to attack them from the front of the vehicle. We used a elevated dolly but you can improvise with a high stool, ect. Your right hand goes under the brake booster and your left hand goes over it. Most of the work is by feeling for the screws and plugs. The biggest tool you will need is patience. Hope it helped somewhat. JW Stevens

Hi, i have doge durango 2001, how often do i need to change the spark plugs?

Hi noe-
assuming your 2001 Durango has a 5.7l Hemi powerplant, there are 2 spark plugs per cylinder that Dodge recomends changing every 30K miles. Of course they suggest you use Mopar plugs.

Thanks for the question & hope this helps...

How many spark plugs does the Dodge Nitro 2007 need and how much do they run?

The Hemi V8 requires 16, it uses a dual plug system for emissions purposes. Other models require only 1 per cylinder.

How much they cost varies greatly from shop to shop, or brand to brand.
