SOURCE: need to remove headlight assembly

Once you turn the octagon screw to release the light and push it forward or out of the front of the vehicle, take a light and look to the left side if your working on the driver side or the right side if your working on the passenger side and you will see a metal tab release. Take a long flat head screw driver and press down toward the ground gently. The headlight will be released and the whole assembly comes out as it has a plug/electrical connection on the back of the assembly. I just replaced my headlights, I have a 2004 Touareg with 44,000 miles and have already gone through 2 sets of headlights. The VW dealer will want $300.00 to replace 1 side! They have lost their minds. How long have you had yours and what engine do you have? Just curious if you have had any problems? My Touareg has just needed tires, brakes, headlights. I have done the brakes as well. They want around $900.00 + for front plus about 8 for the rear. If you need anything just hollar and if you have any questions just let me know if I canhelp.

SOURCE: Need to replace a headlight assembly for a 2006 Subaru Outback.

No, you just remove the radiator grill and the side marker light and the headlight housing bolts and it comes out. Not a real hard job and is Real straight forward. Good luck and have a good day.

It looks like there are just two screws in the top. Headlight assemblies are normally disconnected from inside.

Why me headlights working with a 87 mustang gt

I f you've checked your fuses/fusible links then it's most likely the headlight switch is shot/melted on the backside of switch. I've replaced mine twice and a few times on other mustangs 1987-1993. To remove the switch you will need 2 small Flathead screwdrivers, there are two locking tabs on the side of the switch that must be pressed in at the same time pulling out towards the rear of the car will get the switch out. Then remove the switch from the tab or tabs holding the switch to the harness. Inspect wiring and connectors for damage. Replace in reverse I've attached a picture of replacement part. Good Luck

Not a problem just a question...

The cheapest would be a cold air kit (probably less than $200.00). It is easy to install, but won't quite get you there. The next is a better exhaust system (probably under $200.00). The other easiest modification is a performance chip or engine tuner, but they can be upwards of $300.00. A high performance coil, spark plugs & wires can help as well. The bad news is that each of these will make a minimal improvement by themself. Together they make a grand improvement. Everything is expensive.

How to replace a headlight on a 2008 eqinox

Step 1 - Raise the hood and remove the 4 push-in retainers that go along the top of the front grille. These are each two part retainers - remove both parts by prying with a small screwdriver. Nothing comes off here - this just makes the grille loose for maneuvering the headlight assembly around to get it in and out. Step 2 - Remove the "bow tie" trim piece that runs from headlight to headlight threw the middle of the front grille - it is cheap plastic so do this carefully. To do this, use a flat-bladed screwdriver and a rag (to protect the headlight). This trim part comes off - Started at the driver's side and work toward the passenger side. Place the rag below the trim on the headlight. Carefully pry up on the trim piece with the screwdriver and work the trim with your fingers until it pops out of the headlight assembly catch. There are lock tabs on both the top and bottom of this trim piece when you get to the grille area. Work your way down the trim piece by prying wherever you locate a tab and protecting with the rag as you go until the "bow tie" trim piece comes off. The headlight assembly catches are the tightest. Set it off to the side so you don't step on it or scratch it. Step 3 - Unbolt the light assembly. There are two hex-headed screws on top and one 10MM down inside (towards the center of the car). Remove these 3 bolts. Step 4 - Remove the assembly - There are 2 guide tabs in the lower outside part of the light assembly (opposite the 10MM screw). Wiggle the assembly while pulling out (forward). When the tabs clear, lift up on the headlight and it should be easy to work the rest of the way out to gain access to the headlamp. Step 5 - remove and replace the bulb - it is halogen so you DO NOT touch it with your fingers because the finger oil will cause a hot spot and the bulb will burn out fast. Handle the new bulb with a clean cloth. Re-assembly - I found that by inserting the light assembly under the grille first, I was able to get the two guide tabs to easily line up and pop in place. Everything else was easy.Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know how you did and please rate to make it easier to post back.

I need to change the headlamp bulbs how do i change them???

It is not necessary to remove the entire grill, just the chrome trim piece that extends across both head lights. Use a small flat screwdriver and delicately pry the trim piece towards you. It is held in place by several small plastic tabs that are located across the entire back side of the trim piece. Be VERY careful in doing this as the chrome piece is very brittle & easily broken or damaged. Once you have the trim removed, you will need to remove 3 bolts that retain the headlight assembly and one press-in tab. The bolts have 10mm heads. Two are located on the top of the assembly, one on the lower corner. After removing the 3 bolts, pull the headlight forward to dislodge the lower retaining tab which is on the opposite side of the headlight housing from the lower bolt toward the rear of the housing. Once you have the assembly out, accessing the bulb is simple!
This is not the easiest job to do, so it is a good idea to take painter's tape & protect the paint on the bumper & fender as well as the clear, Lexan part of the headlight assembly.
Take your time, be careful, & you will get it right the first time!*******************ANOTHER OPTION****************************
For replacing the RF headlamp bulb without disaligning the lamp's output beam:
Open the hood and remove the air intake assembly to access the back of the headlight housing; from here, you may reach the "bulb" by untwisting the coupling that holds the bulb in place. Afterwards you may release the harness/socket through the press-in tab that secures the bulb. Total time needed: 30 minutes.............a single bulb runs about $9 at most auto parts stores.
