Location of relay panel on Volvo 89 760 Model

That is true for the 740, for the 760 turbo '89 the relays are on the kick panel next to the passenger's left foot. you have to undo 4 screws and the whole L shaped panel pops out. on mine the white relay box was held in place by and orange hand screw that you could undo w about an 8mm allen wrench. then it swings out. once out you have to bend the tabs outward on both sides of base of relay to be able to pull those suckers loose. I had to remove most of the relays to get at the big double that controls the head lights. i carefully pried off the cover and I found two busted solder joints inside the relay that i am going to attempt to resolder tonite. If not this big dual relay costs 125 US to replace. I wish I could find a 760 relay diagram, the 740 is a bit different.

The relay board and fuses are located below your sound system, behind the Ash tray. Pop the ashtray out to reveal fuse board, to make easy access to relays pop the blanking cover of cigar lighter, remove the 2 locating screws and that should release the coin tray which obscures the Bank of relays behind.
