SOURCE: 1990 Suzuki Escudo 4 wheel drive

As far as I know the procedure should go something like this...

Stop the vehicle, engage the parking brake and if applicable, get out and turn the hubs on the front wheels from Free, to Lock.(You may not have these on a Suzuki, they may be auto-lockers)

Get back in the vehicle and put the transmission shift selector into Neutral.

If you have a manual transfer case, move the selector-shaft to 4x4-High, or 4x4-Low -- whichever is desired. Now, putting the vehicle in gear with the transfer case is sometimes somewhat difficult. As long as the vehicle's transmission is in neutral, don't worry, the gears inside the transfer case are big and beefy -- Don't be afraid to be rough -- Again as long as the transmission is in neutral. You may also have to disengage the parking brake and slightly let the vehicle roll forward or back with your foot-brake to get the Transfer case to lock into place.

Once 4x4 of the selected High, Or Low range is selected, usually indicated by the vehicle jerking slightly with a slightly loud clank/thud. Move the Transmission selector out of neutral into your desired gear (Drive if Automatic, if Manual, whichever gear you pull out from). and voila! You should now be in 4-Wheel-Drive.

To disengage 4-Wheel-Drive. Just reverse the steps.

IHAVE AUTOMATIC 4 WHEEL DRIVE 6CILINDER .I CHANGED THE SPEED SENSER IN HOPES OF SOLVING PROBLEM THE MOTOR REVS UP WHEN DRIVING ACTS LIKE IT IS IN NUTRAL

It may actually BE in neutral. AUtomatc transmissions that are low on fluid often have trouble staying in gear and will slip back into neutral at times due to lack of fluid needed to engage the hydraulics required to go into the desired gear. Checking and topping up fluid may solve your problem.

HOWEVER, if it is low, they where did the fluid go (it doesnt evaporate!)???

If it isnt low and its going into neutral improperly when the stick is in drive.,..you likely have some serious engine control or transmission system problems needing immediate service. code pulls may help, but aside from a few remote issues, if its not low fluid, you really need to seek expert advice on transmission issues

Check engine light drive 4 blinking and transmission is slipping on my 95 accord. what should i do?

If the transmission is slipping, the FIRST thing to do is check the transmission fluid level and make sure it is full. If it is low, top ot off and see if this helps the slipping problem. Then find out why it was low (leaking) and get that repaired.

If the fluid level is not low and it is slipping, then it is probably time for a transmission overhaul.

95 honda accord: rpm's increased well the mph decreased

Assuming you meant "RPMs Increased as speed decreased." This is usually referred to as a "slipping" condition in an automatic transmission. It's much like when your clutch wears out and it starts to slip. THe engine revs up and you go slower! Especially driving up hills since the load is greater on the powerplant. You should be darn sure you are full of Trans. fluid. Check it properly like your manual describes. If you are in the operating range of fliud level, your transmission is likely going out. If this sounds like your problem, take the car to a qualified service center, not the local quickie oil-change outfit, for an expert opinion.

4x4 slips shiftin gears starting and stopping

you might already know but when shifting into 4wd you can shift into 4hi while driving as long as the tires,(all four) are travelling the same speed. you can't shift into 4wd if you are spinning. 4 low you have to completely stop. When you are in 4 low as you know the power of vehicle is greatly increased due to gear reduction. so if you are seeing slipping symptoms, you might want to change transmission filter. It might not be much help to you but it might prevent problems down the road. also when changing fluid be sure to put mopar transmission fluid for replacement on jeep. like gm calls for dexron. the transfer case on dodge and jeeps also takes transmission fluid. I had to replace a t-case on my friends dakota that was making a grinding noise and it turns out a seal had leaked some fluid out and burnt up some bearings. pretty expensive. they are chain driven. hope I didnt get too carried away, because I am not a transmission expert but I just wanted to share what I did know with you.
