Electrical problem Audi A4

My audi A4 petrol car 2001 keeps cutting out and stopping each time a EPS light flashes or engine management light flashes on the dashboard. Does anyone know why this is?

Same thing happened to me, sounds like one of the four coils has gone cost about £40 to rplace and ten mins to fit, no special tools. The trick is knowing which one. Luckly I had a mate who had a PC with a engine management program on.

when the eml lght flashes it is normally detecting a missfire but could be an intermitant missfire as vw's also do this

you need to have the car read with a diagnostic computer

Audi A4 Electrical Fault
Get it to the dealer or a specialist auto electrician and find out why the engine management light is on. That and the other warning light is telling you there is a significant problem with the engine!! Not dealing with it WILL cost you a LOT of money!!

BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON ENGINE RUNNING BUT CAR WONT DRIVE
there is a button on your brake pedal lever that while braking gets depressed, and turns on your brake lights. Now this component is a plastic piece that can get knocked loose rather simply. You either need to re-secure this component, or replace it

(you can get this part at any junk yard for nothing more than some pocket change)
