My wife's Daewoo Lanos went in to get the clutch repaired/replaced. After she got the car back, it started jerking every now and then. She notcied the speedo was going on and off while driving. Then about 2 days later while driving, the car backfired and cut out. She couldn't get it started and had to be towed back home. The next morning we decided to tow the car back to the place who worked on it. She tried to start it and it started, we drove to the place and when we almost got there, the car backfired again and died again. We towed it back and they apparently cleaned the filters. After she got the car back, the speedo just completely died and everytime she got to a stop street, the rev's were running at 2000rpm. Took it back once again, but this time they can't find the problem. Any ideas or solutions for this?

check to see if your timing belt is broken. there should be an access hole usually a rubber cap that you can remove to see it. if there is no access hole remove the screws of the timing belt cover and open it enough to see the belt without breaking the cover. If the belt looks ok be sure there is enough tension so that it is not skipping over the camshaft pulley.
check your ignition components for dampness or to see if they are faulty (spark plugs, wires and ignition module and coil packs).

Check the spark plugs, cap and rotor.

replace your intake air box filter (remember check to see what direction it faces) an arrow (indicating air flow direction) on the air filter should face the engine intake. next check your wide open throttle switch (located in the intake tube) for smooth flap movement or, a broken wire.
