Try changing the fuel filter. Chances are when it ran out of gas it sucked all the old gunk and stuff into the lines. If that doesn"t work you may have to take it to a professional to have the gunk sucked out. Also after you change the filter dump some fuel injector cleaner into the tank that should clean up any remaining residue.

Re check your MAP and IAT sensor. If there not reading right, your ECU will not know how much fuel the engine need's. Good luck

  • An Oxygen sensor sniff for fuel to adjust the fuel to air ratio. When they go bad the run lean all the time. So you don't get sufficient fuel. So if the code read O2 sensor then you should change one or both out. It's not to hard. Thing is there are two O2 sensors on your car. You have an Upstream and a Downstream. The Upstream is not far off the manifold and the Downstream is down the exhaust by the Catalytic Converter. It could really be either one. I put a video up on how to test an O2 sensor. If you don't have the proper gauge then you can rent one or replace one and if need be replace the other. If the vehicle has set for a while and is not performing right it might not be a bad idea to put both on. It's not to hard to change the O2 sensors. You pull the connector off it and put an O2 socket on the end and twist it out, like you would a spark plug. Then replace with a new one. I would start with the one on the exhaust not far off the manifold and then if need be move downstream. Sometimes you have to move a thing or two out of the way to get to that Upstream O2 sensor but it has to be done.

sounds like a problem with the ignition barrel.the wiring is loose or the connectors are loose or the barrel is faulty, unless thse are all run from the onboard computer.

My asb light comes on when starting and stays on. Lights won't come on , power locks won't work, power windows won't work, radio won't work. All fuses are good and car runs fine.

Those are all really common symptoms of the alternator going bad on those cars. I would have it checked to make sure it's charging properly.

The damage is already done before you put the fuel filter in. (dirt in Carb)
Remove your carb and dissesemble it and clean everything out and then put back on the machine with FRESH gas and you will be fine...run like a top !

My first thought would be: If you repaired an emissions hose, take the car back to Auto Zone (or another parts supplier) and let them tell you what code comes up now. You eliminated one problem, now you have to find another.
I wouldn't do a fuel pump without more information.
